Spunky, you've got it bang on again. First time I listened to Coldplay, yeah, it was alright but nothing special. Went to see them live (this is early days) with a couple of friends. It was good, they were a good act. Nothing spectactular, but just enough to make me want to listen to them again. Gradually those songs draw you in, and you start to 'get them'. Nowadays, seeing them live convinces me that they really are special. You can really tell they've learnt such a lot as a band, and there's a passion there that so many groups post 90s are lacking in. So long as Coldplay carry on doing what they have been doing and progressing as a group, I couldn't give a shit about copyright laws, rules or whatever else the record companies like to complain about.
