after how many years of me telling you that have you decided to accept the truth?....

i saw the police on saturday night.

really good gig but i get the feeling the booze contributed to that. i cant imagine it being much fun sober because they're such a clinical band.

stewart copeland is a ****ing monster on the drums btw. stings a good bassist and andy summers is fantastic on guitar but as a muso i pretty much watched copeland for the whole show

forgive me jim, but I don't recall us discussing muse much. If I think muse, I think of ponrauil. In fact, I imagine Aure to look like the singer dude (though I do know that this is not the case) - go figure. You know what? Perhaps I am so effed up that I mistake jim for aure and aure for jim.... ??? *gasp* can you imagine?

Seriously though, I've liked them for quite a while but they don't come through here all that much and the last time (spring) they played a little venue and I didn't end up with tickets. However, I also didn't think they'd be this good. While they seem kinda amateur with the fairly long breaks in between songs and little interaction with the audience, the emotion and energy the singer dude brings forth is breathtakingly attractive. Even though I am not really into little squirly guys. :S My son pronounced Muse to be his new favorite band and his bedroom door sports his first band poster (gasp ... of all band posters, it's one of three bland guys ... amidst his arty paintings and freaky angled photographs .... can you see a premonition here?).....

I just saw The Police - they were very good - although maybe not the best concert I've seen it was amazing seeing them perform. They looked really good and they played really well together. A definite must see if you are looking for some nostalgia!

Prince a few nights ago at the O2. Far better than I thought it would be - it was an amazing show.

Am I the only one who went gaga for the Police?

I thought they sounded so fresh - really like the songs were written yesterday, was amazed at some of the flights of fancy they took (Can't Stand Losing You, especially) and found myself really transported with the run of hits at the end of the show, they managed to the build such momentum. For the same money as Jovi at the 02 I thought I got a far better deal. And, obviously, Stewart Copeland.

Yes, Muse always, always have been awesome live. Way better than on record.

Brian Wilson was my last show Saturday night. He just lifts your heart.

Anyone wanting a fix of some more Stewart Copeland and who has ever liked improvisation or Primus should check out his work with Oysterhead. Some shows for (legal and free) download here - http://bt.etree.org/?search=&cat=132.

I saw them at Live Earth at Giants this summer - and based on that awful performance I didn't buy tickets for any tour dates. I know from ponrauil 's review that he enjoyed the show - I hope every one else did too.
