I saw Genesis on Saturday in Cleveland.

I know it's never been cool to like Genesis but after seeing them live I can say, screw everyone. It was one of the best shows I have seen. They have not changed the setlist at all since the tour began but that was of little consequence to me since this was my first and only show of the tour. I grew up listening to Genesis as my dad is a huge fan so having a chance to see them live with him was very special to me.

Great show and Phil Collins is still a monster on the drums. I hope to have a full review written and up soon for anyone interested.

Damien Rice at Nottingham Arena last night. Absolutely amazing. Such a great performance. Rousing, passionate, haunting, had a bit of everything and made for a top atmosphere. I was a bit aprehensive beforehand, thinking that a big arena wouldn't suit his style but he has such a big live sound even with most of his quieter songs building up to a loud ending.

Highlights include an unplugged solo version of Cannonball whereby he left his microphone and unplugged acoustic to play to a totally captivated audience.

I totally recommend seeing this act if you possibly can.

Edit...
Here's the set list

Then Go
The professor and la fille
9 crimes
Volcano
Me, my yoke and I
Grey room
Childish
I remember
Accidental babies
Coconut skins
Woman like a man
Cannonball
Unplayed piano
Eskimo friend
Blowers daughter
Cheers darlin
Happy Birthday

Setlist from last night (copied and pasted, so sorry about the Caps):

9 CRIMES
OLDER CHESTS
THEN GO
VOLCANO
ME, MY YOKE AND I
THE PROFESSOR & LA FILLE DANSE
ROOTLESS TREE
I REMEMBER
GREY ROOM
AMIE
COCONUT SKINS
WOMAN LIKE A MAN
CANNONBALL

UNPLAYED PIANO
ESKIMO
THE BLOWER’S DAUGHTER

It was a really good performance, and definetely very interesting to see ... I've seen lots of bands in Wembley Arena, but never one that so obviously have only just moved up to that sort of league, and also never one that has managed to hold the entire arena silent! As Mr Bluesman said, a lot of the songs did work because they built up to a full band blowout; with guitar effects, distortion, and heaviness. Although the first few songs weren't the best choices IMO ... 9 Crimes especially I was somewhat disappointed with because the lack of Lisa Hannigan was so noticeable. Damien himself is a very likeable guy though, he seemed faintly overwhelmed, and had a charming "Irish rogue" way about him that had the audience laughing, so that was cool.

In general, a very good gig, and one I'm glad I went to see! Highlights for me were the stunning extended version of I Remember / My Baby Shot Me Down, and the full throttle run through Woman Like A Man

I'm afraid I have to agree with you on this. I did try to forget all about it before the show but I couldn't help but feel how much better the songs would have sounded with her vocals.

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3
