ps I heard Sandy in Manchester in 2003
Not the last ever in Boston this weekend - but the last ever big tour (whenever it ends). It doesn't look as if Danny will make it to the end of this tour in any case. Boston (this coming weekend) is the last show before they travel to Europe. The rumor is that he won't be going with them. These are just rumors of course but you know that when there is this much gossip and discussion, chances are there is a core of truth to it.

Keep in mind that Clarence is already 65 and that Max is moving to Los Angeles to be with Conan late in 2008. There may be mini-tours after this one but this will probably be the last full tour.

I have been a fan since about 1972 so this really has been a long term relationship for me - 35 years. It really makes me sad considering the quality of the music last night - some of the best I've heard. I'll be posting my file when I get it cut up and one torrent is already available at dime. It's really worth a listen.

Sandy was played at Giants in 2003 too - but not back to back with the E St Shuffle.

Saw My Chemical Romance at the O2 last night and was very impressed. I do think Black Parade is a stunning album, but had the impression Gerard Ways voice was awful in concert having seen a few clips on telly. However, he sounded pretty good last night. Although it seems I missed the theatrics of their earlier tour, it was musically great.

Next up: Foo Fighters at the O2 tomorrow night

I saw Mika in Amsterdam last week - amazing concert. The man has great stage presence. He sang a few songs from his new album, which were also very good.. he also spoke a bit of Dutch!

Saw Mika in London last year, have to say he was excellent!

Went to the Foo Fighters gig at the O2 last night. On for almost 3 hours, sounded superb. Also had Roger Taylor and Brian May on for a show too

Amorphis, with Insomnium and Swallow The Sun, last Friday in Utrecht.

Insomnium was decent; they were enthusiastic and everything was well played, but their music just didn't do it for me. After their gig ended, I moved up front and got really close to the stage. Good, since I actually bought the ticket for Swallow The Sun, who would be next. They started with 'Hope', which is my favorite song and I really hoped they'd played it. But I was kinda disappointed - you could hardly hear Mikko, the singer (or at least from where I was standing), whereas Marcus' guitar was annoyingly loud. However, the band members were very enthusiastic and they still managed to ace 'Don't Fall Asleep (horror pt. 2)'.

Apart from that, Juha's hot as hell in real life too. Goddamn.

Then it was Amorphis' turn, who headlined the gig. ****ing hell, how AWESOME they were! Tomi Joutsen not only is a great frontman, but also a great singer. Literally all of the songs they've played rocked from beginning till end and since I sooo love their new album, I was really happy that they played quite a bunch of it. Especially since they played most of my favorite tracks, which even sounded better live than they did on the studio album.

Everyone who gets the opportunity to see Amorphis; DO IT.
