Making of Band 'DC'...........one year on the line.......

arash: i havent as yet, i had a brilliant idea when i read the lyrics, but i wasnt near anything to record...

and yeah, as for that, i have capabilities to track... maybe thats how to go...

im on heartbreak town at the moment still, if you're on win or lose ill take a look at something else as soon as ive dont that (and my essay- due in tomorrow).

i definately have something brewing by the way...
and the circumstances to add some power... heh.

if u also have an idea for win or lose, go on, record it, we gotta all decide how the songs gonna be, so we can decide which version best fit it...

and sorry, i didnt have time to record win or lose today, im a little busy these days, i play in a band and we have a concert in 2 weeks, and i have to practise all day long...

Ok, here's what I've been doing for the past couple of days. I had an idea that I'd like to hear some input on. Here it is:I'll start an email account for the band D.C. and distribute the address and password to all D.C. members. That we we can all log in and read what's there. The purpose for doing this would be to have our own personal message board. I think it would be better if we posted and reviewed the songs there before releasing bits of them here (where everyone can listen to them). We'd still work on lyrics here, but the actual music would be posted there and perfected there before being released here. I think that'd be way more professional, since bands don't release demos as they're working on them. Having our own "board" would also allow us a bit of security, since we won't have to worry about people copying or downloading our stuff before its released (even though we have to release it for free when its finished). What do you guys think?

im quite sure that the only soing we would have to distribute for free would be a bon jovi related song... ie back.
ma not 100% sure on that tho so do correct me if im wrong.

Tawtami:You mean BIDC right? We'd have to release that one for free if we do plan on charging for this CD. Anything relating to Dry County would have to be given out free. Anyhow, I don't think its a good idea to charge for this CD. I don't think the earnings on a CD would outweigh the costs of burning, labelling, and shipping. I think it would be a good idea to release a couple of really strong singles, then put the whole thing up on DC (the site) for download.
Allmike:Good song! Can I work with it a bit, see if I can add anything? Also, regarding the D.C. mailbox/message board/website:I was thinking we could keep the unfinished stuff there, and if we go with my idea for releasing the CD, the songs not released as singles (at least until the project went public). Also, we could invite people to listen to the songs, maybe a group of people (JT mods perhaps?) that could help us pick singles. Also, once the songs were done (but before we released all of them) we could release 30-60 second snippets here. What do you think? Oh, by the way, Walrus is busy last I heard. Still here, but busy.

am hoping to get heartbreak town recorded on friday. it'll just be me and my acoustic (and possibly a bass line..) onto MD then to mp3 but it should be clear.

I like that idea Adrian, but first we have to think about recording song. How we gonna do it??. Most of us in differnt part of the word. You have any idea about it??
