I feel that as a band they release a new record when they feel ready, not because they need to, so they don't feel rushed and have very little, if any filler on them at all.

As for the themes of their music, a lot of the lyrics seem personal to Rob Thomas (lead singer and main songwriter) he explains a few of them in this video: VH1 Storytellers well worht a watch when you have a spare hour
