Metallica - St Anger

Is it me or am I the only one who thinks this album absolutely sucks?!!

I do like Metallica, but I liked them for their guitar playing and their slightly heavier sound compared to other bands of that generation, but this new album is just pure noise!!

My brother has the album so I have to put up with that shit all the time!People are saying that it is Metallica going back to their roots and that it is retro Metallica. THIS IS NOT RETRO METALLICA!!

Retro Metallica is Master Of Puppets and the Black Album, not this SH*T!!

Just thought I'd express my opinion a little.

St. Anger may not be what we´ve used to hear from Metallica lately but I think album has its moments. It lacks all the great guitar riffs and solos we´ve heard before and Lars´ snare sound is stupid, but St. Anger and Frantic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-toc are great songs. Maybe not as good as Battery or Four Horsemen but good anyway. And I wouldn´t call Black Album retro since it´s a bit different that the stuff they did in the 80´s. Oh, and I think this topic HAS been discussed before. There is that search button.

i like the new album...devilsson & other guys think it"s crap..but i like it..

I guess I was kinda harsh but my opinion isn't gonna change sadly.

It's just kinda irritating to think that a great guitar band like Metallica would abandon doing solos and stuff cause lets face it, there aren't that many bands around today who have great guitarists.

I don't really like Metallica. I've downloaded the black album which is supposed to be the best. Enter Sandman sounds ok but the rest of the tracks all sound the same, apart from the odd ballad. Maybe I need to listen more that just twice.

Well as I've said before, I've never been a big Metallica fan, but I do like Master Of Puppets, Ride The Lightening, and the Black album. But unfortunatly I think that St. Anger sucks, big time!

I actually like it... I love when Metallica experiments with their instruments.. and they did a hell of a job here... I think it is a good solid album..
