Cover not bad

Video is killer!

Sounds Death Magnetic Vol. 2, but with better mix.

This band should have stayed and died in the 90's.

There is a good number of idiots who would say the same about Bon Jovi. Or Bruce. Or U2.

I'm so excited for this album, especially considering that it's a double-LP. The single is a fantastic shot of adrenaline that is a little different to what they did on DM. Thrash doesn't have to be 7mins long, and this song recalls the Kill Em All era (esp Whiplash/Hit the Lights-style) of fast, aggressive and obnoxious metal. I was a little concerned by Lords of Summer - though even that has grown on me. Hope there's a little variation on the album (you'd think so, given that there's 80 mins of music!).

I've been a huge fan of the band since I was about 12, and I've never followed a release - so I definitely be buying the deluxe edition in physical format on release day.

On another note, the album cover looks wicked - Metallica have generally great album art imo. The video I didn't really like though - all the flashing lights bothered me a little.

Wow, my two favourite bands releasing albums in consecutive months! What a time to be alive!

Song is actually fun. The chours lyrics are a tad cringy, but oh well. Good thing it's only 3 minutes, I've never really dug overlong Metallica - yes, that includes several tracks on Master Of Puppets.

With it being 80 minutes for just 12 songs, I doubt it's gonna be Kill 'em All #2, though. Which is kind of a bummer, but oh well.

Bon Jovi, Bruce and U2 have all had relevant albums and songs in the 2000s.

Oh let talk about relevance. I Disappear (2000) was a huge hit in the summer of that year. St Anger sold 500,000 copies in its first weekend debuting number 1 billboard. Death Magnetic was an album with good reviews from the media and also sold enough lot copies, three weeks nš1 billboard. The Day That Never Comes also had his moment in the rock radios.

One data, Hardwired video has 1,400,000 views in just 16 hours. This House is not For Sale video has 1,700,000 views in one week.

Hey hey, let's not make this a Jovi v. Metallica situation

But you're absolutely right - Metallica still have huge drawing power, their live shows are still some of the best around, and the two full releases they've had since the turn of the century each have their fair share of 'relevant' and/or kick-ass tracks. Yes, even St. Anger (which I personally love!). The prospect of a double album has excited me immensely, and given the initial reaction to Hardwired, has excited many other people too!
