Yeah I know and I just don't get it. If that were the case he'd run out of that crest of a wave years ago. They are only there because of their talent, enthusiasm to perform and love of music.

Possibly true in the beginning.. But the success of today is own merits, songs like Best of You, The Pretender or the new album Wasting Light are proof of that.

That statement puts it all into perspective. There's no bad songs. To me the weaker ones are A Matter of Time and White Limo. But in the grand scheme, they're still great songs, just not AS great. Killer album.

As to not progressing, I disagree. They couldn't have made this album without the previous ones. It has the melodic touches of There's nothing left to lose, the attitude of One by One, the lighter touches of In Your Honor. Every album before it had a hand in making this what it is.

I also haven't been won over by White Limo yet, but it's a fan favorite. It's just me. It took me a long time for Def Leppard's Stagefright to win me over and White Limo is in that kind of vein. A Matter of Time is the other one, but I can also hear that if I listen to it at the right moment, it could easily go up in rating.

Exactly! They've solidified the foundation while continuing to look skyward and reach for it.

It helped ensure the first album was released and the band was signed. TCATS shattered that notion and those that continued to hold on to the idea that Dave was just riding the coattails of his former band were swept away one by one with each album and performance. You're talking about a band that has won Grammys for 3 of their albums and 2 of their singles at this point (and I'm betting we are going to see Wasting Light join those ranks.)

We entered the realm of "Nirvana? Dave was in a band before the Foo Fighters??" more than a decade ago.

Foo Fighters have achieved their success by own merit. My Hero , Learn To Fly, All My Life, Times Like These, Best Of You, DOA, The pretender, Rope etc.... good hits.

Musically, nirvana and foo fighters are very different. Dave has achieved his own style.

changing the subject.

I like White Limo. Sure it's a bit screamy but it's different to the rest of the album. Maybe watching the video helps but yeah I do like it.
