its a good album (patchy at the start) but Foos still havent made a "classic" album.

This is the first I've seen this sort of comment. You would be in the minority on the first half being patchy.

Agreed. TCATS is regarded as classic in the industry. The Foos are only recently coming to be recognized as rock legends which influences how the albums are regarded.

As for the first half of WL being choppy, I can only agree on the fact White Limo is there. It isn't a fave of mine. However, most fans like it while panning Matter of Time, Miss the Misery, and Back and Forth.

Tracks 1-6 are superb, then it takes a slight downturn but picks up again on the last few tracks.

It aint a classic but it's streets ahead of the last two albums.

I'll never understand the dislike for E,S,P,&G (Not just from you, in general) I don't think there's a weak track on that record.

To me it just didn't sound like a Foo's record should sound. It was okay, just a little too tepid and uninspired IMO.

Isn't it a bit premature to dismiss it as a classic?

Believe me, Slippery When Wet was hardly regarded as classic even three singles into it. It was just a hit album. It takes time.

I just don't see it.

I love the album but it is nothing that The Foos haven't done before. The album lacks the big hits that would propel it beyond what it is. Which is a solid enjoyable album.

We'll come back in a year and see how it's gone down.

Agreed, as I'm not sure of the lasting impression myself.
