Looks like Nickelback will be no 1 record in the US as per Nielsen Sound Scan with sales about 250,000 last week Daughtry no. 4 with sales of about 120,000

The new Daughtry is definitely their weakest yet, but still has a few good tracks. Just a lot more filler on this one. I find that when they go mid-tempo rock, they find their groove. When they go hard rock, they lose me a bit.

I disagree, I'd say it's their strongest yet. The harder songs aren't great i'll admit but it's mostly mid-tempo stuff to my ears and all that's superb.

Gone Too Soon is absolutely fantastic.

We're Not Gonna Fall, Start of Something Good and Crawling Back To You are alll great as well.

One thing I did find odd was how many Bon Jovi references/bashing there was in the reviews of Daughtry's album.

Start of Something Good, Crawling Back To You, Renegade, Losing My Mind, Everything But Me, Spaceship, Gone Too Soon, Rescue Me, Louder Than Ever are all good. Problem is, for me at least, I liked EVERY song on their first 2 albums.

I thought Spaceship was awful, the best example of a filler song i've ever heard!

I'm going to take a slightly opposite opinion and say that I dislike both the new Nickelback AND Daughtry albums.

NB has only 2 good songs on that CD, IMO. Lullaby and Trying Not To Love You. Everything else seems to be a complete rehash. Lullaby (which sounds like Savin' Me Pt.2) at least has a decent "story" behind it and an interesting way of expressing it. Trying Not To Love You is just fun. Everything else is bland. And enough with trying to be the naughty rock-n-roll band. Silver Side Up got by without singing about oral sex, why can't this album?

The Daughtry album is just boring. The lyrics are a little more light hearted, the music a little darker and flat mid-tempo. Daughtry, while not producing Steinmann or Olivia quality lyrics, has always been able to entertain me. This album is not entertaining? Where is the No Surprise or Supernatural?

Disappointed with both albums.

Adrian

I agree with a lot of the above. Honestly, if Chris can't shake things up a bit, I don't see the band having a very long life. Then again, I think Nickelback is boring as paint drying, yet they're still big.
