Default New Steve Perry Album

I was surprised as hell to see this, I thought he was done with music for good after not performing with Journey at the Hall of Fame!

Apparently this new album will be called 'Traces' and will come out on October 5.

Here's the first single:

His voice has definitely changed over the years, but even so his voice is still in much better shape than JBJ's, and he's more than 10 years his senior!

Listened to it today. He's still got a great voice even if it's not quite late 70's/early 80's Journey quality. It's more or less how he sounded on Trial By Fire which is fine with me. Still light years ahead of Jon's voice.

The song itself is OK but Steve's voice totally lifts it up. Could have done with a guitar solo. I'm going to check the album out but I'm not expecting an all-out rock album from him nowadays.

Watching the video, Steve is clearly enjoying himself and it's great to hear his voice again.

Great voice, horrible song, embarrassing lyrics!
Yes, his voice may be in better shape than Jon's but at least Jon would never write rubbish like this!

It's good to hear his voice, but that song is not good.

Nonetheless, it's a fantastic surprise to hear him come back from dead and I expect that an album should have at least one song I like.

I'm glad you said it, because I was thinking it. He is a killer vocalist, even at his age he sounds strong, but didn't care for the song. Really hoping the rest of the album is better. He's been away from music for so long - I want to like it.

This guy had a great singing voice back in his Journey days. Gonna give this new album a listen or two when I have the time.
