to be fair though, what have they actually contributed to music? they've spawned a generation of kids who will play nothing but a drop-d tuned ibanez with masses of gain and no feeling. it's no wonder music is dying with bands like linkin park out there.

on a side note; their guitarist once said 'guitar solos are shit, you'll never see a solo in our songs'. and hence the reason why every guitarist in the world hates them.

Well, musical preference is a matter of personal taste, and lots of people like them. I guess you just don't.

On a side note, it seems there are 2 different versions of Nickelback's FWTDG floating around the airwaves. There's the version the rock stations got, which is the same as the original (as far as I can tell) and there's the version the mainstream/pop stations got, which sounds a little more techno-ish. He adds 2 more "where it should's" echoing in the chorus, and extends at least one of his screams. Interesting. I wonder why they changed it. Oh yeah, it hit the pop stations BTW. I wonder if my predictions will come true.

i'm talking from a musical progression standpoint. music will never progress while bands like linkin park are still successful. they are everything that's wrong with music at the moment.

Define "progress." Its all a matter of personal taste, like I said. I don't belive LP's worth rests solely on your opinion of what constitutes advancing the music industry/art.

Well well, Cold finally showed up. If you haven't heard this song, you don't know what you're missing. Its better than Someday, and my opinion of Someday is incredibly high. Nickelback's new single Feelin' Way Too D*mn Good is out as well, that should make the charts within the next 2 weeks or so. Can anyone fill me in on the video for it?

Cold jumped up 6 notches this week, that's nice to see. Great song. I keep saying this, but go out and download it. Nickelback's new single FWTDG seems to be doing quite well. 3 weeks out and its up to 14. Not bad. Have yet to see the video, supposedly its quite impressive. Anyone seen it?

3 Doors Down achieved their highest place on the AC chart this week. Here Without You got #14 after many weeks fluctuating between 15-16. Very cool. Linkin Park's Breaking The Habit hasn't shown up yet, which is too bad. Maybe next week. Cold and FWTDG are moving steadily up the charts, and in biggest surprise I've seen yet, Van Halen's new single It's About Time debuted at #14 on the Mainstream chart. I'm impressed.
