Default Goo Goo Dolls Help - Where to Start??

Hi there guys!!

As of late i've been listening to a lot of stuff from the Goo-Goo Dolls and really grown fond of them.

Not a big fan of Robby's material though.

.Are any of there mid-90(A Boy Name Goo n Dizzy)onwards cd's been
re-masterd??

My favourites, in order:

1. A Boy Named Goo (1995)
2. Hold Me Up (1990)
3. Dizzy Up The Girl (1998 )
4. Superstar Car Wash (1993)

Jed (1989) and Gutterflower (2002) are ok too.

Avoid 'Let Love In' (2006) at all costs, it's disaster compiled of what sounds like *insert 'generic boyband ballad-eers' here*soundalikes. The sound of a band selling thier soul.

None of their full studio albums have been remastered as far as I'm aware. The tracks included on their Greatest Hits albums may have though. I'll have to check my CD's to see if they say so.

EDIT: Have checked my CD booklets and (unless I'm blind) I can't see anywhere that that says "digitally remastered" or anything similar.

The production isn't my favorite, but there are some good songs on the record. Jesus, John Rzeznik is 40+ years old. Do you expect him to write Jed all over again?

The songs on the "Greatest Hits" have been remastered. It would be nice if they released Boy Named Goo and Superstar Car Wash RM though.

I liked Let Love In too. VERY mellow and darker compared to previous albums, and probably not the best first purchase. I liked the singles plus songs like Without You Here (probably my favourite) and We'll Be Here (When You're Gone)

As for remastering, it would be cool, but in reality, I doubt it'll happen.

I see your point, i'm not expecting another Jed, but i wish they'd go back to sounding just a little bit more raw and spontaneous.

After Gutterflower and Let Love In, I guess go fore their more rockier albums like Superstar Carwash and A Boy Named Goo. Similar stuff but with a lot more kick.

Then the early albums are up to you, depending on if you like punk (as in real punk, not Blink 182 punk)

Bare in mind, from what I'm aware, their 1987 debut (self-titled) is out of print in all formats, including CD, though it may be on iTunes.
