Have you seen them live then? Great live band, I saw them last year on the promo tour before Year Zero came out. Really hope they come back to the UK next year

A cheeky plug, here's a link to the really long review I wrote after seeing them: http://drycounty.com/jovitalk/showthread.php?t=39132

Hey thanks for that! Like I said, I hadn't thought of those songs in years, but I still knew every word. Amazing.

I guess I should wander around the used CD store more often just to see what jumps out at me. I was never really into music, but evidently there's more buried in my brain than I thought!

I have not seen NIN live . . . yet. It looks like November 1 will be the night. Thanks for the link to your review. My friend Dawn (she's advising me on which NIN music I'm ready for and which would still be TOO scary ) has been feeding me reviews of the shows on this tour, and they've been brilliant. The screens and lights look absolutely amazing from what I can see on YouTube. I know they've scheduled a South American leg, but I don't remember seeing any UK dates yet. I hope they head back your way. Thanks again!

Out of interest, how have you got into them? If you've not really been into music, it seems like a bit of a jump from Bon Jovi to Nin ....

I know -- it is definitely quite a leap! It really is the fact that a few friends are fans and started feeding YouTube clips to me which got me intrigued. (At the time that we were all together in NY for the end of the LH tour, I was laughing that one member of the group was barely going to get home before she had to leave again for the first U.S. shows of the NIN tour.) I'm well aware of the fact that they are being very careful about WHICH songs they send to me and which albums they've suggested I get. I have The Fragile, but they say I'm not ready yet! LOL I still have 2 months to prepare myself. The show is in Greenville, South Carolina, which is less than 2 hours away, and tickets are about $50 -- less than a third of what BJ tickets are. I figure what do I have to lose? I'll either like the live show or I won't, but in the meantime, I am enjoying exploring the music. Very different from anything I ever considered before. This is my absolute favorite -

And yes, I know that's not exactly typical of most of what NIN does.

New Amon Amarth (Twilight Of The Thunder God). Good, though certainly not as good as With Oden On Our Side.
New Poisonblack (A Dead Heavy Day). Pretty damn good

20th anniversary edition (so it was released about 2 years ago) of John Farnham's Whispering Jack.
