I love the trippy vibe on SOTSOG, but it was really a huge letdown for me. Only Go Let It Out, Who Feels Love, Gas Panic!, Where Did It All Go Wrong and Roll It Over stand out to me as brilliant songs, and it's a mystery to me why Let's All Make Believe was not included on the album, amazing tune.

And Familiar To Millions is plain shit, minus a few songs

Thanks, gonna listen to both of them now. My brother says SOTSOG is his favourite, he likes the softer feel of it.

Two of the CDs I ordered arrived in the post today:

Ride - Nowhere
Great album. I love the guitar work on it. To be honest Andy Bell is wasted in Oasis.
Brian Wilson - SMiLE
One of the greatest albums I have ever heard. A true classic. Beautiful tunes.

There are people who'll say that Brian Wilson Presents Smile just doesn't compare to the Beach Boys recordings. And they are wrong. So wrong. It's a beautiful thing in its own right. The sequence and arrangement adds so much. Especially to the second movement. Surf's Up is just the perfect climax. It's "how the **** do they do that" every time you hear it.

I will say its a piece that is at its fullest live. If you like the album, buy/download the dvd straight away. The whole thing just comes to life. So much more natural than the record. And a ****ing perfect performance from an astonishing band.

The tour was like nothing I've ever lived through. You saw the piece grow and develop with every show. The transformation in Brian's confidence over the year was a genuine miracle. I can't describe the atmosphere at LA in 2004. It was election night, brian's home town, the breathtaking Walt Disney Concert Hall, Van Dyke Parks and Brian's family in the Audience, the longest Standing Ovation I've ever seen. Brian smiling and dancing all night. Just pure joy.
