Default Queen + Paul Rodgers

What do you think about this project nowadays??
I quite enjoy the new album and the tour looks really cool to me from the youtube videos and the sets. And yeah, I'm going to their show here in Prague (anyone else?? )
Has anybody from you seen them this tour so far?? What are your feelings??

I know there couldn't be any new Freddie but I love that they want to do music and that they want to play live - for the people who still love their music.

I love the new album, saw them at the o2 on monday and they are amazing, paul by no means trys to be freddie he puts his own slant on the songs which is great. One of the highlights was cosmos rockin', off theyre new album they just seemed so tight and like a band on that song then kicked straight into all right now, awesome. Highly recommend them. Oh and they had freddie doing bohemian rhapsody on the big screen. Which was kinda spooky, i have no doubt you'll enjoy it.

Much prefer it to Brian May pissing around with boy bands and sellout comedians.

Butttt.

There's no joy to the album, no humour. Whereever there's a good melody, you can't help but imagine what Freddie would have brought to it (Not just vocally. His Piano is sorely, sorely missed). Just far too earnest; they seem to really believe that by insulting soldiers and singing a load of mystical shite they can bring about world peace.

I won't be going to this tour (Brian's attitude is such that I won't give him a penny of my money these days) but enjoyed the last one. Queen songs, I've wanted to hear live all my life and it did feel like a real celebration. There was a great atmostphere at the show. You couldn't help but be a bit choked by the empty stool brought out for Love of My Life.

Really glad they've brought out Bijou for this tour, but otherwise the setlist is near identical to last time.

No clear argument I'm making, just random thoughts. Should really have put more structure to this!

Well it seems like you don't like Brian May He is actually the reason I'm going to see them I really love his playing. And I really love his solo albums and tours. But I guess it wasn't what you've meant right?

About the album - my opinion is hugely influenced by my excitement that they really released some new material. And I still can hear the Queen in it. I just like it. There are many better albums of course.

Great that you've enjoyed the show!!! Paul will never be any closer to Freddie, on the other hand, he brings some new feeling into the rocking songs.
I look forward to the show!!

I've seen a DVD of the last tour they did and was impressed. Paul Rodgers does a very good job I think. He has always been a great rock singer since his Free days, but I had to admit I had my doubts about how he was going to perform before I watched it. The good thing is that he doesn't try to be Freddie.

I'm quite the fan and would like to go to one of their shows. It's two band's music that I really like in one! I know from boards, that a lot of peope don't like Paul Rodgers singing Queen songs but I think he does a good job considering how irreplacable a guy like Mercury can be. Not only that, he can still sing Bad Company's material pretty well.

I saw them 2 weeks ago in Hannover and liked them. Brian still is a fantastic guitar player and I liked Paul Rodgers. I had a good time.

I never was a big fan of Freddy Mercury though so I didn't compare Paul to him but went there very open minded.
