Default Jacko: Child abuse claims a big lie

Pop star Michael Jackson has broken his silence on the latest child sex allegations against him, saying they were "a big lie".

Jackson said he would prove himself innocent in court, and put "this horrible time" behind him.

The Thriller star released a statement on a website set up to refute the allegations, which are believed to come from a 12 or 13-year-old cancer sufferer.

Jackson said: "To my fans, friends and family: As you know, the charges recently directed at me are terribly serious.

"They are, however, predicated on a big lie. This will be shown in court, and we will be able to put this horrible time behind us."

Jackson, who was arrested last Thursday after an warrant was issued, said there was only so much he could say because of the legal proceedings

"There will be times when I cannot comment at all. No doubt, this will be frustrating for all of us,"

He said he would not be providing a "running commentary" on the case.

"We intend to try our case in the courtroom, not in the public or the media," he said.

He added: "You are right to be sceptical of some of the individuals who are being identified in the mass media as my friends, spokespeople, and attorneys. With few exceptions, most of them are simply filling a desperate void in our culture that equates visibility with insight."

Is this like Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman"?

Either way, guilty or not, it doesn't matter. He is famous (used to be rich ) so he will get out of it no matter what. The legal system today, isn't it great??

Oh yeah...the lyrics to "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" speak directly to that...

Did you know that if you're famous
You can kill your wife
And there's no such thing as 25 to life
As long as you've got the cash to pay for Cochrane

But I guess in this case, Jacko doesn't have the money to pay for a dream team of lawyers!

Hehe..I am sure they will volunteer just for all of the publicity it will get them.

As for the song, sad but true.

If I were a lawyer, I would not defend an accused child molester (sic?) even if I was paid or not.

Mark Geragos is going to defend him. Geragos is currently defending Scott Peterson.

Really? So imagine how it would be one day when you find child molestation charges filed against you after a baby sitting job (and I'm assuming you have never molested a child in this instance). Would suck if every lawyer had your attitude and you couldn't get representation to help prove your innocence. Well this is why lawyers do represent the ACCUSED.

Accused does equal guilty and your kidding yourself if you think that completely baseless charges don't get filed against people much to their bewilderment.

As for the rest....you all continue to assume Michael Jackson is guilty. The plain truth is...we do not know a damn thing. He also is not getting off free no matter what....this will stick regardless of his guilt or innocence in the history books.

I'm not saying I think he is innocent. I don't want to assume his guilt either and frankly at this point..I don't give a damn anymore. His problems go beyond this and overall I just find his life truly tragic. I'll just continue to remember the entertainer he was and still enjoy that.
