"You put out a new record, and it’s like, “Tonight at Dodger Stadium, it’s the Easy Tigers vs. the Heartbreakers.” It’s super-competitive, and it’s a highly judgmental place for a place that should be free of judgment."

Excellent interview! Thanks for the post!

Great interview ^^^^^^

Ryan is so passionate and honest, so refreshing amidst today's media trained darlings. He made it to No.9 in the UK album charts too, which is nice

Another good interview here - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...bare-soul.html

From the same interview session, three acoustic performances - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...-treasure.html

Great performances and nice read!

On a side note: I thought about seeing him in Denmark but the tickets were too expensive and the seats suck. Then I found a German ticket site telling me there will be shows in march. I got really excited but it turned out it was BRYAN ADAMS....crap

Oh dear. That's one Adams you don't wanna see

How did everyone get into Ryan?

I remember accidentally switching on BBC4 a few years ago. There was an acoustic concert with him and The Cardinals on. I was entranced almost immediately.

I would've held your mother's hand
On the day you was born

Those lyrics stayed with me for a while. Utterly beautiful.

Yep, the whole song is beautiful but so sad. It tears my heart out.

I was reading an article about 'Gold' in some music magazine. Ryan was hyped by the media back then, but I thought the article sounded promising. I bought the record and was so surprised hearing so many different facets in one record. I was 16 at that time and listened to it on my discman during some school vacation. 'My Cienega Just Smiled' and 'Rescue Blues' were my first songs I instantly loved.

I find his music indescribably beautiful, lyrically and musically. Every song seems to reach perfection for me, quite often when listening to a song I'll think to myself something like "i'd have had another guitar part there" etc. but Ryan Adams' songs are just so well put together, every thing fits the song perfectly and serves to advance the whole majesty of his music. The only other person I can think that managed to do that is Otis Taylor, anyone who likes Ryan Adams and doesn't know Otis Taylor really should check him out -

UK peoples,

Ryan did a show called Songwriters' Circle for BBC4 with Neil Finn and Janis Ian. It aired last night and is available here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...an_Ryan_Adams/

Enjoy.

Love, love, LOVE Ryan Adams.

Even with all that, I have not listened to his latest album yet as I am currently OBSESSED with James Morrison. UGH! That MAN...!!

It's deserving more than I can give at the moment, so I reserve it for my flight on Thursday from North Carolina to Alaska ... plenty of time to dedicate the attention it deserves.

He gave up drinking a few years ago because of his illness.
