idk if it's great rock n' roll or just good rock n' roll, but I do know that this IS rock n' rock, and that I love it. Slash is the man, can't wait for this new album.

5 songs in so far as I haven't had a chance at all to listen since it got put up online.

It seems decent but extremely 'samey.' First four songs felt like one big song. I like the riffs and solos so far.

I much prefer Myles vocals on an AB album than I do on Slash albums.

I really enjoyed Apocaliptic Love and Slash (2010). But with this new record, I can not connect with the songs. The positive side is that it has great guitar work and is a solid rock album, but as you say, is very repetitive, a very long album, and I'm not enjoying much. Apocaliptic Love was more varied, and it was not as flat as this new one.

My opinion might change over time, but it is difficult to highlight the winning songs.

'Bent To Fly' is absolutely superb! Just listening to the rest now.

I like songs 4-7 a lot more than the first 3.

Once I have my proper copy tomorrow, I will stick it on iPod and have it on shuffle. I will like the songs a lot more then I think.

I listened to the album last night while looking through the booklet and reading the lyrics, and it was definitely a more enjoyable experience than the first few times I listened to it. It’s a solid album, all the songs are good. The length was a problem for me the first few times I listened to it, after a few songs my attention would always wonder so I didn’t really appreciate most of the songs between Bent to Fly and Dissident. But reading along with the booklet helped me stay focused, and I ended up liking all the songs. I also enjoyed the lyrics and themes for the most part, they were generally more serious and thought provoking than those on Apocalyptic Love. The added focus also allowed me to appreciate some of the dynamic elements of each song, which was nice because I too thought it was pretty same-ish my first few listens.

That said, it’s still really ****ing long. And even though I really enjoyed the music, it’s an effort to listen to the whole thing straight like that. I still got bored half way through, and had to force myself to keep listening. So, I don’t think I’ll be listening to it straight often, if ever again. But I do like the songs. Might be something to put in a playlist with other tunes and shuffle.

It's definitely something that you need to listen too on shuffle. It's what I have done today and enjoy some songs so much more. Some I can't even remember listening too on the album but on their own they are brilliant songs.

It's 100% a grower.

I like this album a lot more then Apocalyptic Love. The latter had Anastasia which is a beast of a trick and I liked 2 or 3 other songs from it but that's about it.
World On Fire sounds more as a whole to me. I really like Automatic Overdrive, 30 Years To Life and Avalon. To speak in iTunes-terms; no song on this album is getting lower then a 3 star rating where 'A.L.' had several 2 star rated songs for me.

So in the end a good new album and I'm glad I bought tickets to see the guys in November.

I salute you,
TS

Killer album - not too fond of Bend To Fly and Dissident. But the rest of the album is awesome.

Standouts - Automatic Overdrive and Avalon.
