But seriously.
Bruce wrote it so he has more feeling with it and therefore can also express the intention in a better way.
Amy can only copy the intention and give the song her own twist. However you like a cover or not, I feel the performance will always lack hearing the intention has how the original author meant it.

This is my motivation for the reply I posted above this one.

Too early even. 2,5 hours and I am done with my internship for this week and you are talking about being it too early in the morning.

So true - I do hate most Springsteen covers, even the covers that the diehard Bruce fans love, I just can't like BUT THE AMY MACDONALD ONES ARE GOOD DAMMIT, MAN! And especially Cash's version of Further On.

I wouldn't say my Bruce Springsteen obsession is unhealthy by the way...I wouldn't even call it an obsession.

It's a...ok, maybe there isn't a word for it yet, but "unhealthy obsession" is definately not it.

Maybe it's just love < tears of happiness.
