Default Sting

ok, I've been in love with him since I've been some 13 years old - never saw him live - though he'll come here in October. I really need to see him. Unfortunately, I cannot get decent tickets online, so I am looking at buying them second-hand for $160 a ticket - pretty decent seats like 10th row. I really love the 'old' Sting as in Police and "dream of blue turtles" - the today Sting is alright, but other than his incredibly sexy looks doesn't do all that much for me.

So, the question is, has anyone seen him live lately? What kind of show does he put on? Is it worth the $160 or should I go with lawn seats of $35? Lawn seats allow you to see the stage, but of course, you just see 'people' cannot make out the face and such. Though, there will be massive screens and such.

I saw him a couple of years back and you couldn't really talk about a stage _show_. He came out and played, didn't really even talk. So I'd go for the cheaper seats. Although I sat in the wings and was pretty close to the stage...

I saw him a few years ago, I liked the show a lot, particularly due to the venue, Royal Albert Hall. You could see people really enjoyed when he played the old/Police stuff. If you have the chance/money, go!!! Good luck in getting cheap tickets!!!

no- didn realize that
i was front row and the sound was extremely bad- went back to the mixing tower and there it was perfect- the band is great as ever- the new drummer really does the trick and 60€ were worth only for whenever i say your name- joy rose (i saw her before the show but i was too shy to talk to her- two tree-like men on her side enshied me a bit ) is incredible incredible and incredible- no words for that... never coming home was great too, he's got the old version of roxanne with a lil twist (there's a little black spot.... ) in it- great! inside didn't do the trick for me- most probably cause of the bad sound in the front, send your love is techno version- just dance , a thousand years is as incredible as desert rose, and my personal favourite part of the show was i was brought to my senses... synchronicity II is also great (oooooohhhhhhhh )

he really didn't talk much- they just played- but the show was in front of castle schönbrunn in vienna and he said "willkommen in meinem schloss (welcome to my castle)- we're here on historic ground (or sth. like that) cause this castle was built by mary therese- (and with a big smile on the face he added can you believe mary antoinette was her daughter"

It's true that he doesn't put up a stage show but his behavior on stage fits his music perfectly IMO. He does enough to get the crowd going on the classics. But he also has a lot of intimate songs, or jazzy ones, that are really interesting to see close to the stage just to appreciate the brilliant musicians surrounding him.
However, $160!? That's disappointing.
Try to get someone to invite you
