This is what you could say is similar with The Darkness. You really don't know whether to take them seriously or not and to be honest, both bads really appeal to a similar audience even though I'm sure plenty of Darkness fans would try to deny this.
a band? with teenage boys? drinking?

run to the ****ing hills

I'm not saying it's illegal or anything, just the way they seem to be aiming their music mainly at the younger music fans, it doesn't particularly set much of a good example on live TV.

I'm not really making myself very clear am I?

You're makign it pretty clear actually. You don't like them hence doing something "outrageous" like havign a beer backstage is obviously them just tryign to gain some credibility by looking rock n roll.

You're pretty out of touch with what kids get upto these days if you think watching their favourite idols swallow a beer on TV is goign to corrupt them.

You're very right on that first bit. It doesn't suit their style. What they do in there own time, off camera is one thing, coming out onto the show to be interviewed and being either drunk or plain stupid is another. They guy with black hair had quite obviously had enough to drink and it looked pathetic.

I don't think it'd go as far as to "corrupt" their fans either.

I'll be very surprised if the Darkness make more than 3 albums. I used to love them and they're even getting old with me now and I'm about as open minded to music as you get.

Busted aren't geared towards the same target demographic by a long shot but they'll still get mnaybe another 3-5 year run of it.

They aren't exactly credible but then again, neither are the darkness.

I agree with Jade here. The Darkness kick Busted's asses anyday, and Busted are a boy band. I'm not a massive fan of the Darkness though. They're a hell of a lot better than most people these days, but they are ripping off past bands like Lep Zep and Spinal Tap though.

I agree Jim, The Darkness have had far too much hype, publicity and airplay and are now becoming boring. They need to release a follow up album soon and its gonna have to be special to retain fans. Saying that, I do still think they are one of the most interesting and unique bands to come on the scene for some time.

As for Busted.........someone please take them far, far away from me and leave them there!

To be fair ( ) I see what you mean about the hype thing.. With alot of bands when they are hyped up like they are they normally dont last but i really think they have the talent and cos they are so interesting and different that they will last and i think Busted are going to be here 2 more years at the most.. They are a boyband, Boybands dont last. Its almost a fact!..
