I feel for Brian. I know what he is most likely experiencing based on his doctor's recommendation. People are declaring he just needs to wear an in-ear monitor (I believe he does,) but it isn't as simple as loud noise. I couldn't really expose myself to even moderate levels of music without experiencing rapid fluctuation and severe tinnitus. I needed a quiet room just to maintain what was hanging on.
It's one of those topics that people will over simplify, make fun of, dismiss... until it hits them. Given our culture of headphone/ear bud wearing masses, there's a whole lot of people that are going to find out for themselves sooner or later what it's really like and that hearing aids are not a pair of glasses. It's a one way street.

last year's show in Chicago was filmed for a future DVD/Blu-Ray release. A strange choice, given that the band played to 115 thousand fans in Austria earlier, yet it's nice that the tour was documented when they still could. I feel for Brian and hope that they can find a way to finish off the tour with him somehow.
