Even light tracks like I've Got a Crush on You (introduced as the masterpiece of the River - tongue in cheek) was sung as it was meant to be heard - it wasn't a throwaway.

Fade Away was one of the chills - the way he ended it on his knees just added to the impact.

But the songs that don't get much play - Point Blank, The Price You Pay, Drive all Night were absolutely showstoppers.

I guess if I never see them as a band again - I can't complain after a night like this. What a way to end it.
Oh you don't know how envious I am of you right now!!
This is the album that made me fall in love with Bruce and his music waaaay back when it was released. Even though I've heard almost all songs on this album at some point it's not
the same as hearing it all at one show. Awesome!

To just touch on the earlier discussion, I myself don't own the entire discography yet. I am a very big Bruce fan, and have heard almost everything through other sources (Youtube, etc.), but as far as actually owning things, I'm still in discovery mode. I only own:

Born To Run (30th Anniversary Box Set)
Darkness on The Edge of Town
Born In The USA
Live Era '75/'85
Greatest Hits
Tracks (Box Set)
Live In NYC
The Rising
The Essential Bruce Springsteen
The Seegar Sessions: American Land Edition
Live In Dublin (DVD only)
Magic
Working On A Dream

Which is really ironic, since my favorite era of Bruce music is Greetings to BITUSA

I have them floating around in various burns and such. Just have to buy them. The River is next on my Bruce list actually.

I know - and The River was always one of my favorites. I'm almost certain that this is it for the band. We actually thought about going to the Baltimore show - it's not that far - but last night I came to the conclusion that The River show was the way I preferred to end it. Right now, nothing is going to top it as a show and if I don't get to hear them again - they couldn't have orchestrated a better farewell.

I'm also afraid you might be right. Bruce said something in Charlotte that gave me that feeling, too. I can't remember exactly what it was now, but I definitely got that idea. I'm really glad that I woke up in time to enjoy this tour, and I'll cherish that show in Nashville next week.

Yes, and that is one of the reasons I feel even worse for not pulling myself together and got over there to see these shows. Even if Bruce decides sometime in the future to do a "E-Street tour" again it won't be the same E-street that we know and love...

Amen - I'm so glad I got to experience Bruce with the E-Street band, even if it was just the once.

And when the E Street Band are no more it'll be ok, because there's still one E Street Band project still in the works...

The Hampden Park, Glasgow Review

ANYWAY

Today I bought BORN TO RUN. You may be thinking "WTF? This brat hasn't shut the **** up about Bruce for what seems like ever now - how did he not have Born To Run?"

Well BTR is only my 5th Bruce CD I downloaded...and not legally, even more shameful...everything by Bruce that I didn't have. So now I'm doing the rounds and buying all the CD's, it's weird knowing I love the album before I've bought it.

Oh and btw - downloading everything by Bruce was the best thing I ever did for myself. If I didn't, I'd probably only have like 5 or 6 CD's by now and I wouldn't have been so crazy about him.

And the cover of BTR. It just rocks. I'm so glad I have it in a massive form of a poster on my wall

Oh and One Step Up is my new favourite song at the moment. Tunnel Of Love must be the slowest grower album ever, but when it does start to gradually grow on you song by song it's the greatest thing ever. Some amazing songs on it, can't believe I hated it when I first bought and heard it.
