I don't have Sirius damnit - I'm hoping that some kind person will post the interview somewhere.

When you find it, you know who else doesn't have Sirius!

And I agree - Jon needs a Steve. Obviously I don't know, but I don't get the impression that Richie = Steve. Not even close.

Steve is cool, but Bruce is the only superstar who really seems like a regular guy. And he's SO into music in general that I get inspired just watching him talk.

But listening to The Promise, I've got this nagging feeling that it doesn't sound genuine all the way through. I know Save Your Love is a re-recorded track with new lyrics, but does anyone know what's been done to the other tracks. There are at least a handful of songs that sound and feel to me like they were done again in 2010. Anyone agree?

If Jon had a Steve he'd fire him. There's a reason why Jon surrounds him with yes people, he can't handle people telling him he's wrong.

What I like about Bruce more and more is his absolute commitment to his music. He really doesn't give a damn if you like it - or if Steve likes it. Obviously someone has to like it or it would never get heard, but it has to please him first. Maybe that's why it stands the test of time and still speaks to me after all these years.

His comment about The Promise (the song) gave me chills. It would have fit on Darkness perfectly but it wasn't released at all until Tracks in 1998. He said it was just too personal to release at the time. He played it live a few times (and I have every damn bootleg of it) but until 1998 it never saw the light of day. It's such a powerful song I'm glad that it's finally getting its due.

I know that some re-recording got done but I don't know how much or where. I am just now ripping the 2 CD set so I can listen to it closely. But I have most of these tracks as bootlegs (lost masters etc) so I might be able to spot some obvious overdubs. I guess if they did a good enough job I might not be able to spot them. Some of the lost masters series has excellent sound quality to begin with so a fair comparison should be possible.

I do have mail and I appreciate it so much. I'll send it off to Terri (or anyone else who wants to hear it).

Thanks for letting me know - I got a link through e-mail. I didn't realize they had Flynn on - I have all his compilations and they are most awesome.
