Report från Stan on BTX:

I hung out for most of this afternoon at Bruce's video shoot at the carousel house at the Casino in Asbury Park.
I wasn't one of the lucky ones to get in, but you could hear very well from outside the Casino.
This was once again, the 1978 version of the E Street Band, no Nils, Soozie or Patti, but David Lindley was there to play violin as well as a horn section.
There was also a horn section and Charlie Giordano was on the organ.
The various members of the E Street Band arrived one-by-one, Clarence coming in his usual stretch limo.
Bruce was the last to arrive, at 1:10 p.m.
As he exited his SUV, he came over the where the fans were standing and went down the line and said hello to everyone and shook hands.
He did sign one autograph at the end.

A long soundcheck then started, that went on til 4 p.m.
Among the songs played:

1. Racing In the Street (the 1978 version from The Promise)
2. Come on (Let's Go Tonight)
3. Gotta Get That Feeling
4. One Way Street
5. Outside Looking In
6. The Brokenhearted
7. Candy's Boy
8. Save My Love
9. Ain't Good Enough For you
10. Talk to Me
We could hear Bruce goofing around during the middle of the song.
11. Blue Christmas
12. The Promise

Some of the songs they worked on a couple of time.

The contest winners and invited guests were let in after 3 p.m.

The actual taping of the webcast began about 4:35 p.m.
I had to leave to go to work but thanks to my friend Ryan for textng me the songs being played.
He said about 50 people were still outside in the cold, It was about 30 degrees but the windchill was brutal.

Stan posted this before the recording was over so here's the full setlist recorded with an audience.

1. Racing In the Street (197
2. Gotta Get That Feeling
3. Outside Looking In
4. Come On (Let's Go Tonight)
5. One Way Street
6. Save My Love
7. The Brokenhearted
8. Ain't Good Enough for You
9. Talk To Me
10. The Promise
11. Blue Christmas

The info is that this will be broadcasted/webcasted sometime before christmas.

Oh yes - especially Talk to Me. That one keeps freaking me out on the CD as I'm driving down the road. I'll be singing along and then it occurs to me that something's different . . . and then "why do I know this?" rolls through my travel-warped brain . . . and then SOUTHSIDE! pops into my head. LOL I really should be used to it by now, but I keep having that little moment.

Thanks for that, i wouldn't have noticed it otherwise
Well, i thought the documentary was fantastic, i havent been so interested in a music documentary in a while! (i think the last one was a BBC4 thing about singer/songwriters ) Anyway, i now feel inclined to listen to Darkness in full, should be a good night!

I remember the first time I listened to Darkness, it was off the back off Magic. I played it on my MP3 player while travelling home on a bus at night.

At first I was hit with how raw it sounded, I didn't know what to make of it. By the end I was in awe of what a tight, all killer album it is. There simply isn't any let up in quality, The narrative and scope are still mind blowing.

Not only my favourite Bruce album but my all time favourite by any artist. The documentary made me appreciate it even more.

This wasnt the first time ive listened to Darkness but the documentary made me go back to it and as you said appreciate it even more, For me it still doesnt come close to Greetings From Asbury Park N.J or Born To Run but it's just a stunning piece of work, nothing else could describe it.
