This was my first of many shows I will be seeing and it was amazing. From Badlands as an amazing opener to Rosalita which was a good closer. Now I was already a major Bruce fan and building my Bruce music at a steady pace going into the show, but the show did open my eyes to some other great Bruce tunes. The Ghost of Tom Joad was AMAZING and was probably the highlight of the show for me, Nils is just amazing. Here's the story behind Ghost of T.J, about a week before the show our class began to watch the Grapes of Wrath movie, with the brilliant Henry Fonda, at school. I had completely forgot that Bruce did a album and a song called the Ghost of Tom Joad. It was just a very special experience I went through when he played this song and in the lyrics when he references Tom Joad and I remembered the lines...amazing. Other highlights for me was Trapped which I had never heard before, but thank God someone requested it and I loved it. Then there was Mony Mony which Bruce and the band had never played before and it was just amazing, when he said Max start with the drums.... what a memory as he began to play.

However the only thing was he only played one song from the Born in the U.S.A album.
Other songs that I would have loved to hear: Out in the Street, TENTH AVENUE, TUNNEL OF LOVE, The River, Hungry Heart, anything else from the Born in the U.S.A album and the list goes on and on but I had an awesome time.

BTW, I had my last final to take the next day which I still needed some studying to do, but I did all for Bruce.

Good to hear you had such a great time.
It's a standard show you got from Bruce but I know that even that don't say it will be a boring one.
If I recall correctly he played all the songs you stated only once this tour and though you didn't get all the songs you hoped for you did get a rockversion of Johnny 99 which is awesome, a Land of Hope and Dreams with 'People get Ready' and The Ghost of Tom Joad which I heard of many other people is amazing life. I never got to hear all these songs and probably won't since I couldn't get tickets for his show here.

I seen him once luckily

I salute you,
Thunderstrucker

Good for you Oli. Listen to some recent bootlegs before the show so you will know what to expect. That way you won't go away disappointed and wondering what we have all been raving on about here LOL.
That Kathleen, sounds like homework I will enjoy doing and get done before the deadline

Isn't that called a monopoly, which is illegal in the U.S?

Truth be told, I used to dismiss The Sessions Band, they just didn't appeal to me and I was always thankful I got into Springsteen after they had been and gone.

But the other night I listened to LIVE IN DUBLIN and it instantly turned me into a Sessions Band fan. Atlantic City is great, as is the version of Further On plus most of the songs of the Seeger Sessions CD. I've come to appreciate them now and kinda hope that after I see Bruce with the E in Glasgow this year he gets the Sessions Band back for a reunion tour or summit, they sound so fun live!

O Mary, don't you weep! Brilliant.

Welcome to the club

Just don't forget that it's Bruce's inspiration at the heart of both bands.

I am surprised you mention Atlantic City and Further On Oli.
Listen to the original version of Open All Night and then listen to the Seegers Version. It's amazing. Songs like My Oklahoma Home and Pay Me My Money Down are songs 'we' haven't heard before of Bruce.
Each show lasted 2,5 hours. I never understand why it's editted to 2 hours. He played a Seeger version of (You Can Look) But You Better Not Touch too which is an awesome version compared to the original.

I got the bootleg of Bruce in Holland at that tour, he played Cadillac Ranch, Johnny 99, You Can Look & Ramrod all in a different style. In my eyes, that is what makes the show good. Not the songs that everyone knows by now

I salute you,
Thunderstrucker

This announcement at the Thursday night show was such a pleasure. At the end of the show there was a live cam feed up on the screens showing the crew putting up the banner on the "old" Giants Stadium. We took pictures on the way out

And another ticket scramble is on the way.

**edit** And the Saturday night show was just sublime. It was probably the best Incident I have ever heard live - incredible stuff. Roll on Giants shows
