In my opinion the best bruce shows are the ones without the covers. Some nights ago Wild Thing was requested. Now who on earth would go to Bruce to request a lame song as Wild Thing and he played it.

One of the best shows in my opinion so far is:

May 21, 2009 - E. Rutherford, NJ

Badlands
Adam Raised A Cain
Outlaw Pete
Radio Nowhere
She's The One
Working On A Dream
Seeds
Johnny 99
The Ghost Of Tom Joad
Raise Your Hand
Growin' Up
I'm Going Down
Prove It All Night
Waiting On A Sunny Day
The Promised Land
The Wrestler
Kingdom Of Days
Lonesome Day
The Rising
Born To Run

Hard Times
Thunder Road
Jungleland
Land Of Hope And Dreams
American Land
Rosalita

Why? Just look at the encore.

I salute you,
Thunderstrucker

p.s.
The version he does of Johnny 99 sounds very good.

Just go on your own.
I'm going with a friend to Hampden but Hyde Park alone. Once the gig starts you won't care.

Excellent advice. I agree - once the gig starts you won't care who is with you.

I agree, too. I've been to 3 Bruce shows now, and even though I went "with" folks to all 3, I had a ticket by myself at each show. Didn't bother me a bit. I also went to my first Jovi shows by myself, and even now when I have met other fans that I travel with, we frequently don't have tickets together. I'd much rather be at a show by myself than be at home wishing I were at the show!

Amen to that! If they don't want to go to the gig- their loss! I'd never let a lack of companion stop me going to a gig- although I do draw the line at going to festivals by myself, because I don't think I could cope with camping by myself for a weekend!

A version of that with fewer songs came out in the U.S. around the time of the Super Bowl. There was a lot of muttering (and worse) about ca$hing in/$elling out on the message boards. I didn't see any point in buying it. It isn't even listed on the "Albums" page on Bruce's website - http://www.brucespringsteen.net/albums/index.html.

Wasn't it available only at Wal-Mart too?

I see no point in it either. Maybe I'm just selfish for wanting a new song or two on it, seeing as we only just got a new album? Or even if the live tracks wern't previously released it'd be cool but

Also everyone, I was browsing Sainsburys today and saw a Bruce Springsteen interview in Q magazine, spent 25 mins in there reading it. It's pretty cool

Yes, the GH was only sold at Wal-Mart.

Was Bruce on the cover of Q? If not, do you remember who was? It takes forever for Q to get to the bookstores over here. I have to keep dropping in to check, and it helps if I know who to look for. Thanks, Oli!

EDIT - I just found the cover on the Q website, and Bruce is on it. That will make it easy to watch for!
