My problem with that article, and the few negative opinions I've seen from some other Bruce fans, is that people are suddenly acting like Bruce and the band did something different last night to "sell out". While Bruce has a great deal of amazing serious music, and is deeply hailed by critics and fans alike as a political and social commentator, the man is also a tremendous Rock and Roll performer. The Super Bowl halftime show was not the place to bring out Backstreets, The Wrestler, Streets of Philadelphia and a speech about hunger. It was a party atmosphere, a happy atmosphere, and a stage to bring out some kick ass rock. As for it being an attempt to sell tickets and records? Well ****ing duh, of course it was. Some people are honestly taking this way too serious.

Great little set/performance crammed into 12 minutes.

I had forgotten American football was so drawn out and messy though.

Drawn out and Messy? And soccer isn't? Wow with the little pansy "OH MY GOD YOU STEPPED ON MY TOE IM GOING TO DIE" type deal I see? I used to like soccer... once apon a time. Now it's just a pussie sport that just needs a really fast runner and the ability to dribble the ball. It's like Hockey now. NHL used to be amazing, but now.... OMG YOU CHECKED ME, IM GUNNA DIE. Rugby is okay and REAL CANADIAN/AMERICAN football is great.

Gonna check my DVD recorder when I get home today. I heard that there were problems with the satellite so the sound was so and so during the broadcast here in Europe. Some people didn't even have a sound for the halftime performance! Keeping my fingers crossed that my recording is ok.

WTF I didn't even say anything about soccer. It's not a "my players are better than your players" thing either, I was just making an observation from my POV. When I say "drawn out and messy" I mean with all the stoppages. I guess I like attractive, high scoring games. My football code of choice is Aussie Rules (the game Ben Graham, Sav Rocca, and Darren Bennett used to play) which can be both free flowing and physical. Although rule changes in recent years have encouraged a faster game but less physicality...

Hey Thierry - it was 10th Avenue Freezeout - and an awesome version.

Tickets just became harder to get tomorrow morning.
Very cool! I am going to see Bruce at Pinkpop in May! Also, a Dutch pay per view channel is broadcasting the whole gig. I'll try to get the DVB stream from it .

Super halftime show AND a great game -- I hardly know how to act! LOL Too bad my internet went down at home last night so that I couldn't see what the rest of you were saying. Of course, better the internet than the cable at that time!

Tickets for Bruce's show here in Atlanta went on sale this morning, too. I'm there!
