Oh yes please! What would you say about me?

Mothers always love me. It's always those darn dad's I have to work at and work at and work at.

And to whoever is dissing upon Bruce's Hyde Park show. PFFFFFFT. The best? Definatly not, but if you even saw a portion of the Glastonbury gig you'd understand why he wasn't as great at Hyde Park.

He gave it his all and then some at Glastonbury - his biggest ever crowd since...a very long time ago. Then he had to do another 2 1/2+ set the following day! He did damn brilliant considering.

That's enough Bruce defending for me today.

I was listening to born to run in the car earlier and I couldn't help that Bruce's goes majorly flat a lot of the time on 10th avenue freezeout.

I'd never noticed it through my laptop on crappy mp3 rates. Kinda wish I hadn't now because I love how the cut sounds like a staxx record but the vocal on it will annoy me every time I hear it now for a long time

I dunno why but for some reason better days is totally blowing my mind just now.

I just love how almost evangelic it sounds when it all comes together.

This is a great version AND I think solos like this go a long way to backing up my point about a tasteless and easy solo is better than mindless wanking showing off technical ability in the thread about richie's solos on the main board.

I've just realised how awesome nebraska is.

I liked it but I'd never really listened to it, I'd either have it on in the car and not really be paying attention or have it on in the background while I was doing work or something but I sat and listened to it tonight and it's absolutely brilliant.

Which leads me to my next question:

I've decided that my pay day treat for the supply work I've done this week will be another bruce album and I need some suggestions.

I've got:

born to run (love)
born in the USA (love about 80% of, like the rest)
live in NY (would kick my granny off a bus for)
greatest hits (the mid 90s??!?!?! one... sort of born to run / born in the USA type cover, i dunno but regardless, I don't need another GH)
nebraska (see above)
tom joad (not really been able to get into it)
the rising (love)
magic (love +1)
working on a dream (have a friend-like affection for)

I think that's it.

Anyways I've tried to give an idea of what type of albums of his I dig.

Just now I'm really digging his mid tempo stuff like better days and human touch... maybe something from around that era?

But I do love the pomp and RnBness (c) JBJ 2009 of his earlier stuff around born to run.

go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

OK so I just bought the river from ebay. there doesnt seem to be any buy it now darkness albums and I'm not paying over a fiver for something 2nd that's probably been played for 20 years unless it's a guitar.

I have stumbled upon the springsteen art search results and I'm just glad I'm moving or else myself, my beer and the good people at mastercard would be up to our necks in springsteen canvases just now.

I love this even though it doesn't particularly look like the boss and isn't his esquire:

I agree wholeheartedly with Kathleen's suggestions. Darkness is my favorite album, and Racing in the Street brings me to a halt every time I hear it. The River is just loaded with great songs.

Since you like the Live In NY set so much, you might also keep an eye out for the Live 1975-1985 set. It's a 3 CD box set, and I got my copy for a song via eBay. The version of The River on that set and the story Bruce tells before it are enough to make you cry.
