I can get that live set on spotify and most people on ebay either want a fortune for it or would probably be pretty close to the bone with shipping before i move.

I miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight just buy a bruce painting before i go even though I wouldn't get the use out of it.

painting>canvas print

LOL I see you have as much self-control as I have when you get on eBay! When the clock is counting down, I decide I NEED all sorts of things.

You should also get his MTV live "plugged" album he did with the solo band. "I Wish I Were Blind" is so beautiful. Overall it's just a great performance. The performance of Lucky Town is infinitely better then the album version.

Devils and Dust is fantatstic too.

Since you like the Live In NY set so much, you might also keep an eye out for the Live 1975-1985 set. It's a 3 CD box set, and I got my copy for a song via eBay. The version of The River on that set and the story Bruce tells before it are enough to make you cry.
Agreed- You really must get the live box set. The HMV album have it for £12.99 just now, which is pretty good (I've seen it for £20-30 in some other shops). Although if you ask me, the version of The River is worth the price of the set on its own. I acn't listen to it too often though- the story is basically me and my own dad so it hits a bit too close to home sometimes, but it's still very beautiful.

I'd also recommend Tunnel Of Love- a lot of Bruce fans that I've spoken to have really slagged off this album, but if you're into the early 90's stuff, this would be a pretty good one to get. It takes a wee while to get into but once you do it's pretty damn awesome.

Bruce fans are so lame.

They're all hating on hearing Born To Run at every show ****ing hell.

Spoilt little wingeing brats. Someone dissed hearing Badlands too! AND LONESOME DAY!

But still...Born To Run? I think they need to stop attending Bruce gigs.

I'm OK with HMV, they're willing to employ me so I'm happy

I did work experience in the Argyle St shop in 3rd year. It was me and a guy n girl from another school.

They had a sale coming up so all they had us do was sit (on the floor) downstairs in the stock room removing stickers from videos boxes so new ones could be put on.

I worked out that there was 48,000 stickers to be peeled off.

On the 2nd morning I asked if we'd be doing anything else that week and the guy actually had the cheek to say: "No. I know it's shit but I had to do it when i started here too"

I reminded him that I wasn't getting paid for it, told him to shove the placement up his proverbial and went home.

I've been back in that store once or twice in the 10 years since then.
