I got most of mine at used CD shops and from eBay (sorry Bruce). Darkness never showed up at one of the used shops I haunt, so I finally bought a new copy. Worth every penny.

Tunnel of Love - ugh. Definitely glad I got that one used.

EDIT - Jim, even if you hate HMV, you'll be glad you spent the money on that 1975-85 Live set. That price is a bargain, and the set is absolutely stellar.

I think it is on The Essential Bruce Springsteen album - it came out in 2003. Of course it's also on Live in New York City.

The Version on the Essential Bruce Springsteen is the same as Live in NYC, only about 15-20 seconds shorter.

even on the essential it is the live version I believe.
I think it's one of the best bruce songs, especially with the People Get Ready part at the end, like on the barcelona dvd.

I salute you,
TS

Well shit - there you go. I have both but I thought that one was studio and one was live. The mind is a terrible thing to lose LOL.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH Bruce overload

The river arrived on Saturday and I've only had a chance to listen to cd 1 but really liked it.

The live comp came today and is having the life and soul compressed and digitalised out of it by itunes as we speak.

And yesterday I got an e-mail from an ebay seller asked me to pay for the darkness on the edge of town cd id bought from him. I musta done that when i was drunk the other night cause I don't remember it
