Not only my favourite Bruce album but my all time favourite by any artist. The documentary made me appreciate it even more.

The only album that Bruce has ever said that he wished he could re-record was - Darkness. So in 2009 the entire
original band (minus Danny of course) went into the Paramount Theater (which is part of the Asbury Park Convention Center) and they played that damn album without an audience - absolutely live - twice. So Bruce finally got to re-record his album - and that recording (part of the box set) is absolutely mesmerizing. Even for me, who grew up with the original phrasing and sound, it's a masterpiece and I'm grateful beyond words that I have it.
It's a gift across the years from Bruce to me.
