Yeah - it's been awhile - nice to see you here.. For the record the remastered Darkness is a real improvement. And if you read a few (maybe many) posts back I remember saying that the only album that Bruce wanted to re-record was Darkness. He wasn't satisfied with the original. So in 2009 the entire original band (minus Danny of course) went into the Paramount Theater (which is part of the Asbury Park Convention Center) and they played that damn album without an audience - absolutely live - twice. So Bruce finally got to re-record his album - and that recording (part of the box set) is absolutely mesmerizing. Even for me, who grew up with the original phrasing and sound, it's a masterpiece and I'm grateful beyond words that I have it.
It's a gift across the years from Bruce to me.
Yes - I'm repeating what I said a while ago in this thread - but damnit - it bears repeating. The entire production is awesome. Maybe Santa will give it to you as a Christmas present

Darkness boxset sounds ****ing ace, can't wait to get my paws on it eventually. Gonna watch the documentary on iPlayer tomorrow - listened to the album recently and it's absolutely wanktastic in terms of songwriting. Adam Raised A Cain is the only song on it I don't like, because of the generic arena rock tune (same with Cover Me on BITUSA) but even that has a pretty good lyric. My qualm with the record is that the production is a bit shitty (especially considering Bruce is such a perfectionist and put so much into the recording and songs) but hopefully the re-recording will provide a nice raw alternative.
Any word on new material?
ALSO - anyone heard Townes Van Zandt's version of Racing In the Street? The man had a beautiful, melancholic voice and I highly recommend that recording.
