I agree with that quote. It's the only Bruce album that I just can't love or even get into. Nebraska still has some hope left - Tom Joad has absolutely none.

And yet some of the songs that Bruce plays electric now - such as the title track and Youngstown will blow you away during a show. I just can't listen to the album as it was recorded.
