Don't believe the press steriotype (and please don't make that into some pun related to Don't Believe The Truth, someone).
I like Oasis.

I do not like Liam. He portrays himself as an egotistical, childish prick. And the greatest singer of the past 20 years - VERY debatable, lol.

If anybody is saying Jon makes himself out that way. My God what about Liam?!

Liam is the man, he doesnt need to do anything on stage, he just has an awesome presence. Probably the only singer in the world who can have he back to the crowd yet have the whole arenas attention on him.

Liam

Liam Gallagher went for a drink in the city and was approached by a homeless man called Gary who asked Liam for any spare change. Liam shed out £50 to him whereupon Gary and his friend headed straight for a Subway for some dinner

Off the Stop The Clocks forum. Good example, I reckon, and on the subject of him being the best singer of the past 20 years:

EDIT: If you're not convinced by that then these two should suffice:

Liam Gallagher gave a homeless man £50, and I'm meant to be impressed? That's like 2p for him, so that was a crap example.

And no, he is not the best singer in 20 years, IMO. And I largely doubt any Youtube video is going to change my opinion on that one.

It's really not a big deal, it's all just personal opinions. It's not like I have this big protest against him. I really don't think about it too much, lol.
He may well be a nice guy, I wouldn't know that. But I just don't like the way he portrays himself. "Ohh look at me, I'm all 'ard and bad"
And it's the way HE portrays himself, BTW. I'm not some media junkie that feeds into everything they say. I am very much aware of how they can miss-portray things.

Liam himself is the one that makes himself look like a twat. And it's a shame, because the man is obviously talented.

Now Noel I like.....

Aloha !

I'm not really a big fan of Liam because he's not really the smartest guy on the planet, but...Liam himself actually often says how he can be a twat at times. He's completely aware of his own behaviour, he just doesn't care and goes on being himself. Fans who have met both of the Gallagher brothers say Liam is a lot nicer to talk to than Noel. Noel may be witty, but he's often very grumpy, while Liam most of the time is very relaxed.

The way the media portray both of the Gallagher brothers is completely different as to what they're really like. All this stuff about fighting on stage is still being mentioned in the press, yet they've never fought on stage. At all. They flip the bird every now and then, or badmouth eachother but that's what they're brothers for. The same goes for them cancelling tours. The last time one of them walked out on a tour was in 2001. Yet it's being mentioned in every review and it makes people believe that they still do so. I'm not saying their behaviour back then was right, but the very fact that the media only tells half of the story and still portrays them as junkies who can't get their act straight tires me, and many other Oasis fans, a lot.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

There music's shite it keeps me up all night!

I liked the early Oasis days back when they were a new raw band. Songs like Acquiesce, Supersonic, Whatever and Live Forever, etc will always be amongst my favourate songs by any artist.

Outstanding! I finally got the album, never downloaded, but just played it 3 times in a row. The second half of the album isn't as good as the first half but I expected less from it. It's heavy, no easy listening and Liam's efforts are pretty good. Soldier On is the worst song for me, but I'm Outta Time is a proper highlight. I'll be playing this album many, many more times.
