Maybe try listening to something other than Wonderwall..... I hated the song, but like everything else...... If he wasn't so full of himself, I might like the band a little more that I do now...

I know, it was played only once during the rehearsals and then once in Liverpool. After Liverpool they dropped it because Noel thought the show was too long, the bastard.

Anyway, I was happy with Half The World Away. It's been an important song for me, played it on guitar many times and played it once for one of my ex girlfriends when she first stayed for the night at my place.

Right, I'm off to Thierry to go to Dusseldorf. Let's hope for another change in the set. Noel's got a cold so fingers crossed.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

All fair enough.

I think you are referring to Noel Gallagher, the greatest songwriter of the past 20 years. Sure he puts down bands. So do I. So do most people. In fact, you're putting him down right there. What's wrong with expressing your opinions? He may do it in interviews, but it's hardly going to hurt the musician who he insults, is it? Unless you're Phil Collins, who looked like he was on the verge of tears when he made his shit comeback to Noel. Some artists even consider it an honour to be slagged off by Noel. He's hardly an idiot for saying who he likes and doesn't like. Not everyone's frightened of saying anything interesting in interviews (*cough*Jon*cough*)

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams is a straight ****ing ripoff of Wonderwall. Just because he plays the chords differently on some parts and the chorus is slightly different there's no denying how similar they are. Check the mashup. Minor my ****ing arse.

WTF? What did Noel the Greatest Songwriter Of The Past 20 Years say to the REAL Greatest Songwriter Of The Past 20 Years?

I do. I like the band more due to the fact of there personalities and where the lyrics come from.... I don't know...... That was a stupid statement on my part. And even if the chords are similar, I could strip down several songs and compare them to other bands songs and call them rip offs. I just don't see green day ripping off a song from Oasis.... Maybe I'm wrong.

He said that we shouldn't vote for the tory party because then Phil Collins would come back from Switzerland and live with us, and I think he simply said he was shit a couple of times. Nothing too bad by Noel's standards, you should see what Kaiser Chiefs get

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but Phil Collins hasn't written that much in the past 20 years has he? Or maybe he has but it was just MOR shite about as far away as Genesis' great early prog as is possible. Then again, only heard the odd tune.

With the two songs it's not just chords, there's similarities in the structure and main melodies. It's really pretty obvious. And I couldn't really see Bon Jovi ripping off Oasis, either, but that's obviously happened...

EDIT: Oli, found you some quotes!

"People ****ing hate cunts like Phil Collins, and if they don't — they ****ing should"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why did he sell so many records in the '80s? I mean, ****ing hell"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Vote Labour. If you don't and the Tories get in, Phil Collins is threatening to come back from Switzerland and live here — and none of us want that." (on the 2005 General election)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You can't kill the anti-Christ"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

""Phil Collins knows he can't say anything about me because I'm the ****ing bollocks and that's the thing that does his head in, and the fact that he's bald."

Still not as bad as what he says about some other people.

But the Kaiser Chiefs deserve, Phil Collins doesn't. In the last 20 years Phil Collins has written 3 soundtracks (one of which was nominated for like 6 awards or summit) and probably done some other material that I do not know about.

Noel just wishes he was Phil Collins...well no one wants to be bald I guess so Noel's just envious of the man's writing.

Anywaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, I've said my bit now, this ain't a thread for me to speak in

EDIT: Just read those Noel insults. Yup, definatly jealousy.
