Vs. is a close second in their albums for me. Check out the self titled from 2006 next, its better than Backspacer IMO.

Pearl Jam are my joint favourite band along with BJ. Seen them 3 times live, always an amazing gig, and I'm looking foward to seeing them again at Hyde Park this year, as long as I get a ticket!
sweet man - i thought i was the only one...

Pearl Jam is one of the bands I never learned to like for some reason. I never got into Grunge, but I sort of appreciate what Nirvana has created, even if that´s not the kind of music I enjoy listening to. But with Pearl Jam, there´s nothing for me in their music.

No, that'd be the uninspired and lyrically shallow pap you listen to largely

Pearl Jam - great band.

Pearl Jam aren't even a grunge band for me. They're a rock (ish) band who got lumped in with the awful (in my opinion) Nirvana etc. 'cause they broke out around the same time.

Yeah, evidently I got two copies. Someone must have left it at my place .... This is definitely evidence of how great it is ... Can't imagine my few PJ friends to not complain about a missing DVD ...

It's rather boring (for PJ standards) and a short-haired Vedder is just plain wrong.

IMO, nothing compares to the '92 Pinkpop concert....

It's not only because they broke out around the same time. They both made grunge popular - grunge being an image and not necessarily defined by a music style. They are Seattle based, wrote angst-filled lyrics, rejected the glam band era of the 80s in appearance, lyrics and sound. Thus, by definition they are a grunge band. Does not mean they have musical similarities (beyond distorted guitar sounds and self-doubting lyrics) with the Nirvanas, Screaming Trees, Malfunkshun, or Green River to name a few.
