I´m just the opposite. I like majority of the songs Paul sings. Not too excited of songs that Gene sings. God of Thunder and I Love It Loud excluded.
You got that wrong. I prefer Paul's songwriting, but I prefer Gene's VOICE. I don't even like these two songs, Gene songs I like would be Rock & Roll All Nite, World Without Heroes, Domino.

And I prefer the 80´s albums to the stuff they recorded in the 70´s. Although Destroyer is an excellent album. Favourite line-up is the one with Bruce and Eric Carr.
Like I said, I never "got" Ace, so I gotta agree - Bruce was their best guitar player IMO (as far as playing goes - Vinnie was probably a better riffmaker and Mark was faster, but I like Bruce's leads the best). Paul's leads (Psycho Circus, World Without Heroes) are also great, very melodic.

I can't say which of the Eric's I prefer though, because Carr has the advantage of having played on a record that has fantastically sounding (and mixed pretty loud) drums (Creatures OTN).

Wow, I've never heard it put so well, about the playing skills. Pauls guitar style is interesting. I like hearing him play as himself, but a lot of his solos, he does trying to sound like Ace. ie Psycho Circus, I THINK I heard he played that solo. Raise Your glasses as well. That's my big problem with Kiss. Everyone playing like someone else to give the imperssion it's not them, whether it be Paul trying to play like Ace, Tommy doing the same, Bruce playing Bass to sound like Gene. It's just annoying.

i think i read somewhere that Ace said after going to an Alice Cooper show on the Billion Dollar Babies tour, they decided to use make up and costumes. I believe Alice was the first to ever put such shows so that wasn't so unique for Kiss. they jsu did a copycat.
