Beatles anyone? Led Zeppelin anyone? AC/DC anyone? Status Quo anyone?
I think sales do tell something about a bands quality. Most of the great bands sold shitloads of records. Of course, a lot of crappy bands sold a lot to but not over long periods of time. And besides, if you look at how much Beatles, Zeppelin, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, U2, Status QUo, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Metallica and Deep Purple sold together you would get more than 2.5 Billion records which is definitely more than ALL boy-bands and Britney Spears similar creatures sold together.
