Default Wildflower Sheryl Crow

Got this mail today

Quote:
Dear Sheryl Crow Fans,

We are happy to announce that you can now pre-order Sheryl's new album, Wildflower, directly from Sheryl's Official Store! You can pre-order the CD in either the deluxe or standard version, and you can guarantee that your order arrives on the release date of September 27 by selecting Express Shipping when you check out.*

The Deluxe version of the CD features special packaging, a 16-panel booklet, and a bonus CD with 7 acoustic tracks and 1 video. The standard version doesn't have all that, but it is the 5th studio album from Sheryl - featuring stripped down arrangements and lush orchestration - meaning it's got to be great!

As an added bonus, every pre-order will receive a one-year subscription (or subscription renewal) to Rolling Stone magazine (a $12.97 value). You will be asked during check-out if you would like to accept the subscription. This kicks off what should be a great season, with the new album and new merch on its way to the Official Store.

Thanks,

Sheryl Crow Official Store

It is very good. My son bought it yesterday and I have been listening to it a lot.

It was out on Monday here. I bought a copy, and in the shop they get the sealed disc from a drawer beneath the counter and put it in a bag and seal it for you, which of course I didn't check until I got home, finding the wrong album in there! I'll have to check before leaving the shop in future, so I have to wait until I go again on Saturday to change it.

I started to buy that today for two reasons:

1. I really like her
2. I don't want Gretchen Wilson to debut at #1. (Can't stand her music.)

But I was there to buy a DVD, so I spent enough without getting a CD too. I'll pick it up as soon as I can though.

Is it mostly ballads though? I do like some of her stuff, but an album of all slow songs doesn't appeal to me.

By the way, the reviewers killed it in the paper last week. Although on a BJ board, we know how much we can rely on what they think.

I listened to the whole thing last night and yes - it is mostly ballads. Lots of strings and soft music. It's very nice but a little too much of the same thing after hearing it all.
