Right. So they've recorded multiple shows in 1995 and usually used 2 trucks and out of all shows he could decide to release Obie picked the one which was incomplete?

How many shows have they released by now? 20? And not one has been complete. But yet for this one they decided to give an excuse. I'm only buying half of this excuse.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Yeah I find it hard to believe that they basically couldn't record one show properly when every bar band around the corner was able to do that (if they wanted) at the time. It's either an excuse or they were doing that kind of stuff half-assed back then at best. That's why I actually think that not really much of 1996 exists. A band break was luring and they weren't in need of any live material for possible B-sides/bonus CDs at all.

There was a strong rumor in '96 that they were working on a double live album. I remember reading it in a fan magazine or something, but unfortunately I don't keep that magazine. Nevertheless, I keep a kind of pocket biography, which included many data and anecdotes. It was published in the year 97 (I think) and mention at the end of the book, that the band could be preparing their first live album with recordings of their last tour.

I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for those claims, but there was some kind of rumor or comment about it in those years, about a live release. So, who knows... maybe Dublin 1996 was recorded, it's the show with the most songs from These Days, but I guess it's another crazy fan dream.

I don't really buy Obie's reasoning but it's been pretty well documented the 96 tour had the mobile recording studio Jon cut some demos for Destination Anywhere with some of the band so I buy some of it. Rest is a stretch. I'll see what I can dig up.

Hahaha the band doesn't usually mess up that bad as a whole but choosing the show with that cringe-worthy mess up in Lost Highway's post solo section...is....a.....choice.

The entire thing was aired for mastercard members or something alike back in the day and was rather crappy in terms of performance. A full Pro Shot video of the gig is around.
