I have been over that way, but only through it by car. I know it's pretty high, probably get nice views from up there I suppose.

yeh you can ge liverpool, wigan , st helens, the pennines, Carmill damm. plus theres loads of good spots with history such as crank caverns the tower at the top of the hill a few haunted pubs and a hanging tree. i used to go up there often in the car its a good place to park and walk around.

Well I don't have a car lol I am getting up to going further on my bike though - haven't had one in 10 years, got one a few weeks ago, getting used to more exercise and going further afield on it.

i suppose its about an 8 mile journey but its well worth it if you follow the east lancs down from town to the ranford bipass then up the B- roads. would be a good trip if you ask me. when i was a kid i speant ages around sankey valley and the damm

Well I'm kind of working my way up to it. I know my granddad mentioned the rainfor bypass thing. Furthest I've done in a day so far was about 7 miles - that was through the greenways and then 'round sherdley park - first time I've ever been there when the show wasn't on lol

its better when he show isnt on IMO

the rainford bypass is full of dips and curves but not too bad if you ask me. after than its 1 turn right and youre there at the top.

The show has got pretty crap over the past few years. They tried to change it this year by bringing it forward and not calling it the Sherdley/St Helens show, but it was just the same. It's always just a load of fairground rides (which I certainly wouldn't trust my life to) a craft tent that gets smaller every year, and some army guys looking for recruits lol I'll go more often though otherwise now, it's a nice place when it's empty.
