I am so glad that I was persuaded to join the 2011 tour to Europe. I was tempted in 2008 but ultimately didn't go. 2011 was the prefect time for me and my husband financially and I'm so glad that we went. We saw so many fantastic shows, (7 of them) and we heard so much that we had never heard played here in the US. It still remains the high point for me and I had been a fan for years.

And that after the dreadful start in Dusseldorf... :D

These Days was one of a few songs that night where he seemed to actually get into a song. I don't remember Bed of Roses being somehow remarkable other than the failing microphones throughout the song :D He sounded quite strained to me all night long, but pushed hard on the uptempo songs.

Yeah well, the less said about that, the better LOL. They got a free pass on the first one I was so happy to be there.

Very good performance of Let It Rock. The guys are clearly happy to be playing this one again.

There must be a treasure trove of pro shot stuff sitting somewhere.

Another good one. Jon hits all the high notes but in the key change - " Woah-OH livin on a prayer " you can hear his voice is already damaged.

In my opinion, the Paris version was vocally even better/more consistent:

That high "...where EVERYbody goes..." at the start of the second verse sounds absolutely immense!

Whow, I totally forgot I got to see Let It Rock live (in Paris 2010). Thanks for the reminder! :-)

Anyone know what's the difference in this "long" version? And didn't remember Hugh was in that video, did anyone?

Bon Jovi - Hey God (Long Version) - YouTube

Haven't checked but I think the "long" version is the album version, and the single was the edited shorter version.

Jon absolutely nails the last chorus (especially the high note on "...and I wanna BE..."). However, he doesn't bother going for the "ooh, woah-oo-o-ooh, woah, yeah..." part at the end of the song, which - at least for me - implies that he didn't think his voice was up for it that night. Now that I think about it, he probably could have sung that part rather easily back then even with his voice being a bit shot (like it was through most of the gig), but for some reason just wasn't confident enough.
