I don't know what to say, think, feel anymore.

CKatz 05-23-2013 09:17 PM

At this point, nobody has to make a statement anymore. He never denied they are feuding or that he left the band. It's over. Done.

ben 05-23-2013 09:18 PM

This band gave a whole new meaning to "no one can save me, the damage is done."

MrNickel 05-23-2013 09:21 PM

I have always hated this tweet, more so now.

@TheRealSambora 3rd of May

Thanks 4 your notes & concerns. I'm doing ****ing great. This is a private matter but please know I love the band and you fans!

I understand that as him saying that the fashion business is not the reason he's not with the band. There's something else wrong. And I'm beginning to think the first rumours about the money dispute between Richie and Jon are true.

I think it started with Wildflower and later Make A Memory. Jon chose someone else to play guitar on Wildflower (Bobby) and then again on MAM (Phil X). Plus he wanted MAM as the lead single, even though Richie didn't play on it. And since then there has been many songs written by Billy Falcon or other outside writers. And I'm guessing he's actually written a lot more of those songs than we think. So, less input from Richie, less money for Richie. And if the salaries for tours have gone down like rumoured, I'm sure Richie would've been pissed off.

Of course I'm just speculating, but it seems Jon's getting tired of Richie not coming out and telling the reasons and Richie's angry because Jon's airing their dirty laundry even though he's always said the opposite.

I don't know. But there must be a reason for all this. I'm not ready to lay the blame on either one just yet.

Ice

This makes just as much sense as some other scenarios that we have heard here. I agree that there must be a real reason for this - we all just wish we knew what it was. It's impossible to lay blame on what the original problem was since none of us really know. But I still blame Richie for bailing on the tour without notice (unless of course that isn't really what happened either).

I could understand and believe this if it were about 'what do you got' or any of the songs on WAN, but there were videos of Richie playing in the studio with Dan Huff, and they even showed him playing the MAM "solo", so I can't say I buy this...

Some majorly unprofessional shit for a CEO and his employee to be doing in public.

Kinda reminds you that it's just a ****ing rock band with 2 old boys going through what every single lead singer/lead guitarist of any major band go through in some way at some point. Whether it's money; musical direction; spotlight sharing; personal dislike or some combination of the above, everyone's been through it from Mick and Keith, Tyler and Perry, Axl and Slash, Waters and Gilmour, Mel C and Posh Spice, Triple H and HBK, Leonardo and Raphael, Meatloaf and Jim, Elton and Bernie.....sorry, too many JDs.

Agreed.

Richie quit or got fired. I don't care which. Jon won't say so because it will hurt the tour. Richie can't say so because of some legal obligation.

Game's over folks. Nothing more to see here.

Exactly. And considering that Jovi's always been secretive as hell, there have to be non-disclosure agreements written into the contracts that the band members signed. Probably with hefty monetary penalties if they're broken. I'm guessing Richie CAN'T say much about what this is really about without violating that part of the contract on top what he may have already done by not showing up.

rolo_tomachi 05-23-2013 09:48 PM

Richie and Jon are not bear. For years I've seen as Jon looks contemptuously to Richie.

I think Ice meant "What Do You Got" - the first single from the Greatest hits record.

Walkerboy 05-23-2013 09:50 PM

Now that the band have hit the European leg of the tour, the fact that Richie isn't part of it doesn't really bother me anymore.
It's almost become comedic with the lack of information and denying of any wrong-doing......

Quite frankly beyond caring about it now.

It's pretty much been said, so Jon doesn't have to say anything. I don't understand that part anymore, not to hurt the tour. Richie has missed all the shows since 3rd April. Phil X is going back to LA when he is on a break in August, that pretty much tells us that he is with the band all through June/July. Jon is doing interviews, Richie is now talking. Whats going to happen, Richie is going to turn up on stage and it will be fine? I think it's long past worrying about hurting the tour.

If you are referring to the infamous "stink eye," Jon's even given that to fans and the band is used to it. The only bright spot in this whole mess for me personally, is the fact that I've had more enjoyment out of reading this board for the past few weeks than in all the time that came before. You guys (and ladies) are wicked and funny even when dissing each other. :D And this thread better make it to page 500 or I will be highly disappointed.

WillRunForChocolate 05-23-2013 09:55 PM

I guess now we need to start a thread "who should replace Richie on a permanent basis?"

It better. That's when I plan to hit my 5,000th post.

No one will replace him. This is going to be the end of the band, at least until the 2 kiss and make up.

you can lie yourself If you want.

Jon has always been an asshole. Make no mistake, He continue the tour for the money, not the fans.

If Jon respect his fans, fix this problem and Richie return.

Brotherhood? Hah!

Maybe I should re-phrase..... I've got the point of being beyond caring.
If we knew 100% it was Jon's fault then I'd be seriously annoyed at him carrying on the tour.
Thing is that as the moment it's looking more likely to be Richie causing the problem, and as such I'll make do with whoever turns up on stage.

I agree with you there...I can't remember just how David had put in documentary when they were all in the diner. But it was something to the effect that Bon Jovi was like a marriage and the only way the band would end if a member wanted to leave or died.

The best thing about this tour is the Buick, everything else sucks. Jon and Richie have to fix it.

exactly. lol. Jon may act like a schmuck sometimes but my guess is that he's carrying on with the tour for a lot of good reasons. first of, a lot of people bought tickets, booked flights and hotels and all that to attend the concerts; a lot of people's paychecks are at stake here - remember, Bon Jovi may be a 6 piece live band but there's about 100 crew members who need to put food on their tables; if Richie quit out of the blue, then you can't blame Jon for carrying on and respect his commitments.

Don't worry people, we'll have our questions answered shortly, I can feel it. as for the time being, it makes me sad to think about Bon Jovi. Knowing they're coming to Lisbon and I won't be there - because I choose not to. But hey, I've seen em twice. I've waited 13 years to see them live and then I managed to watch the show twice in 3 years, not bad. I'd rather never see them again if Richie doesn't return though. Doesn't matter whose fault it is.
