I knew it was an old picture but didn't bother to respond. Rolo thinks what he thinks when it comes to Richie's innocence and Jon's being 100% at fault. It is what it is. :D

That picture is from the summer of 2009, I remember that quite well for some reason ;)
With that being said, while there's no clear evidence, I have no doubt Jon went back to smoking. I just can't think of any reason for his voice going back down to shit after sounding very decent the past few tours. |

I put the photo to show the boss takes very little seriously their work tool. The photo was of the time "the circle-greatest hits". Jon is also stupid smoking, has ruined several tour with that damn habit. Nobody is perfect in Joviland. http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/8045...rrenLittle.jpg |

I think Richie's idea of sober living is not the absence of drinking but the absence of being stupidly drunk. With that reasoning, 8 years ago he tried to adjust his lifestyle but have had a few "slips." There are people who drink responsibly who are considered non-drunks; it is just that given Richie's history, there will always be a worry that he won't be able stop drinking before that point.
I also think the reason he went off the tour is something major between him and Jon but he is presenting this line--I needed a longer break, I am happy that I am spending more time with my daughter--which protects the Bon Jovi secrecy edit and sends a message to Jon that he is not going to tell the real reason and/or slag Jon off. So he is accepting responsibility, not criticizing, not telling secrets = he is still a member of the band. |

I see your point, but I feel that perhaps in his mind he has been struggling with sobriety for 8 years. As if, the fact that he is fighting it, is sobriety. A start maybe? There are at least two acknowledged rehabs and a very public DUI in that time. That is more than a few sips. People drink everyday without it becoming an affect on their day to day lives - addicts loose that control and can't afford to gamble. The counter restarts with any little slip or sip for true sobriety. Not going into long story again but raised by alcoholic with 5 rehabs & never beat it. I understand better than I want. Met many and heard it all. Concerns me how he views sobriety IF that is what he really meant to say. All I can say is that on the Today interview, he seemed clean. |
