Jon's work ethic? That's the problem, for 10 years, the Jon's work ethic is sucks, is no longer a band more his fault. All the musicians have been relegated to "replaceable", either in a recording studio or upcoming tours.
John Shanks and Bobby Bandiera are more constant members than the rest of the band, that's the great work ethic of Jon. Damn, this is not an album/tour solo, but it is. |

Jon could never then say in an interview Richie was irreplaceable, when he was put in the actual position that he HAD to replace him. As for Bobby - I'm pretty sure he was brought in to cover for Richie in case he flaked out - which he did. Just a shame Bobby just doesn't fit Bon Jovi at all. Jon wants to work - all the time - he always has, always will. That's never, ever changed. And we know he called Tico and tried to get him in the studio and Tico refused, so Jon went and worked anyway. And agreed it does seem it was a push too far for Richie - but they've known what Jon is like for over thirty years. |

In England we have a saying about football teams. No one player is bigger than the team. Look at the treatment Luis Suarez got at Liverpool from Brendan Rogers. Richie Sambora is not bigger than Bon Jovi. If he thinks he is irreplaceable then he has the wrong ethos completely. Jon has done everything right in this tour. Yes, we all have our opinions on Jon and him rushing the album and it being mediocre. And I am in that league of people that do not like What About Now. But if we're talking about pure touring over 30 years then Jon has been the perfect model of commitment. 2 bad knee injuries, severe hayfever, illness, personal circumstances in his family, he is always there. Everyone has shit going on in their life, but as Seb said (and its not often I agree with him) Richie should have sorted his shit out before the tour or just stayed away for the entire tour from the beginning. Therefore it would give fans more of a choice, rather than being "conned" into buying tickets, booking early flights and securing hotels. How the hell can you say Jon has a poor work ethic I will never know. We all can judge his methods, setlists, album styles etc. If it isn't your cup of tea then don't listen to Bon Jovi anymore. But judging his work ethic that it sucks isn't your opinion. Its factually wrong. |

That is very unfair to the rest of the band, is not it?. Before had break, if Jon is in need of work, he can do on a solo album. The rest of the band can live the life their own way too, and not just the life of Jon and their damn visions. 6 albums, 6 tours, it's a shame that all projects (members of band) have to stop because the CEO wants to make another record. He has to do his solo stuff, this band is adding too many mediocre albums by this constant Jon's work ethic. The spark has been lost with this damn process. I can not blame both Richie, he has gone through hell personally, and has been in the band yet, now found himself with his new solo album, and it seems that does not matter and he can be trampled and forgotten because Jon projects come first, after having spent 10 years of continuous records/touring, bleeding for the cause, ....and in the end of day, Phil is the Hero. Why?. Jon is as responsible for the abandonment of Richie as himself, but that does not matter because Jon are every day on stage. This sucks, Jon is so full of shit like Richie. But it is easy to pick a winner in this situation, right? |
