Yes, Richies timing was bad, but sometimes you gotta do, what you gotta do. Richie's family situation is obviously different to Jon (he has Dorothea at home with the kids) but I believe that Stephs od scared the crap out Richie - more so knowing that he and Heather have addiction issues.

Speaking of which, Richie is the latest recruit in an anti-drug forum that talked about the toll of heroin:

Some sing with princes, others sing with Stevie.

It was good for Richie to sing with his hero. Who knew?!

He said this about The Circle as well.
To be honest the songs from this album were never relevant so it would have made no difference when it was released!

Maybe Jon is just driven to tour, and there is a certain sense of worth from seeing the $$$ and the crowds.

JBJ felt like WAN was a commentary on 'post-Obama-first-term America.' I f that were true, early 2013 would be the right time to release it. However, there's not much difference lyrically between WAN and any other recent album to the vast majority of listeners, I would bet. So, it's really an album that didn't need to be released right away or could've been re-worked to a solo release.

Exactly. While I'm one of the minority of folks who actually like most of the songs on WAN, the only song I can think of that would have to do something with Obama and the state of the union at all would be What's Left Of Me, though even that could be seen as a gerenal social commentary that's been current for the last couple of years.

Ok, maybe he also meant Because We Can and What About Now, but these are so general that it wouldn't have mattered which year to release them IMO...
