Not intelligent observations, intelligent guesses maybe, but still a pure guess unless you know the people involved.

I am not talking about millions who have no interest in Bon Jovi, I am talking about others who are not on this board. Or do you think it is only this community that goes to Bon Jovi show, or buys an album? Again not sure what you are talking about but you seem to be in a bubble on here, I would not expect your sister to know them, but I would expect someone who buys and album and attends a show to at least know who the band is, outrageous I know. However, I do accept that now your sister and brother have passed comment that the world has spoken.

The truth is that they do sell tickets and do sell albums. WAN has tanked as I said, but I would imagine Have A Nice Day, Lost Highway, and the Circle together done between 7 and 10 million in sales, which is not bad at all considering the way the music biz has gone since 2006. And of course they have had several successful tours in that time. Do you think if every one of us here stopped going to the shows that the band would crumble? It would not, my point is and clearly was that we look at the band from a unique place, a place the rest of its fan base does not.

They could tour off the back of Backstager's who think they can do no wrong and casuals who go for the hits easily. Selling albums is another matter, but I suspect it would be an issue even if they made a masterpiece.

Your telling us that we have no right to discuss this matter because we're not in "Jon's circle jerk group". Most of us are talking in hypotheticals and what is the most likely in terms of the band's past.

I'm not saying nobody buys the albums but the fact is most people buy the "Greatest Hits" and have no interest in a new Bon Jovi single, which is clearly seen in there current place on radio.

My family's reaction to new Jovi is a wide enough opinion among people when it comes to new Jovi material.

+1

Not only that, Wasting Light was as successful as their previous records.

I'm sure they'd be happy to look at It's My Life and be proud.

You are right about Crush, but not about Foos. For example, I always thought they were a solid band, knew several songs, loved Everlong, The Pretender etc. Then came Wasting Light, instant classic. Brilliant album, brilliant songs. Arlandria and Dear Rosemary must be among the best rock songs of last 15 or so years. And I don't even consider myself fan of them. Wasting Light is relevant. Bon jovi could be.

I always wondered, they keep making these decent or not-so-decent albums since Bounce, and their sales have been more or less the same, minus industry trends. The Circle and WAN didnt have a successful single, so they sold on the strength of their name. If Jon just stopped chasing these fads, in my opinion they could really nail it. A really great Bon Jovi album would sell at least as WAN, and would be more relevant and would add to the legacy. And its not like they dont have it in them. At least thats what I believe.

I know this is off topic, but hey
It's just that if there is one thing more pathetic than non critical dull pop hit single or album, it's the unsuccessful wannabe version of it...

I've read the lasts 15 pages and:
  1. The Beatles can't be compared to 1986-1995 Bon Jovi. And this is because their records as a whole are a bunch of filler tracks, I honestly believe that The Beatles are the most overrated band of all the times after ****ing Nirvana.
  2. I liked Foo Fighters' Wasting Light. I even started listening to them because of that album, is a great one.
  3. I don't agree that fans want them to play they Slippery/New Jersey/Keep The Faith stuff. That's what the casuals want. I want them to play songs from their first records, from their new ones, and from the Boxset. I don't see the point of a static setlist when they always play the setlist, it just doesn't make sense to me to hear the same ones a thousand times.
  4. The 'winky' posts are hilarious, please more.

I would love to hear songs from those 3 albums. New Jersey/Faith/These Days ARE my favorite Bon Jovi albums and I'm no casual.

"This is the first time i listen to you guys. I am sorry to say I won't be leaving a 4 star review on Itunes because it is clear that you are not well prepared for your show, some of the dates your mentioned are off, some of the examples you used are irrelevant and most of your show is based on assumptions, stereotypes and rumors."

Agreed...both of them have not got a clue...i also left comment..they both are clueless.

Of course I'd want to, those are my top 3 albums of the band too (well, I'm not sure about Faith, but These Days and New Jersey have number one and number two in that order) , but I didn't said These Days as they don't play a lot of stuff of this one. I'd love them to play I Believe or Stick To Your Guns or Let It Rock, but I don't see the point of having an static setlist and playing Born To Be My Baby (song that I love) or Bad Medicine for the 9000th time since it was released. God, I've even read people saying that they should drop You Give Love A Bad Name some times and play more of other albums, and I agree, Bon Jovi has enough hits to allow themselves to forget about a few ones in some gigs.

OK heres my humble ranting/thoughts on the Richie situation.......I m not going to fuel the fire with rumours or more bullshit, or even make light hearted banter, I just want to get my thoughts out.......I personally am pretty gutted about what has happened, I know it sounds harsh and horrible to say but I hope it is Richies personal business that needs sorting and not a rift, sacking or quitting of the band. Like the vast majority of you, I live, breath and am inspired by the band and their music (most of it anyway) and I will hold my hands up as high as they go and proudly say I like WAN. in fact I do think WATER is a welcome return to the real Bon Jovi sound. I totally believe that without Richie there can be no more BON JOVI, the whole platform is based around the JON & RICHIE combo. I am crossing everything I can cross that he will be back for the European leg, and most of me believes he will. Jon isnt daft, he knows full well that touring Europe without him will go down like a lead balloon, and I for one, if it came to it would sell my Manchester tickets if Richie wasnt playing.
My biggest fear is that if Richie is sober and on the wagon, he doesnt have the fire inside to be the Richie Sambora part of Bon Jovi any longer hence the less than enthusiastic solo's of the past 2/3 year. and he has decided to walk away for a while to asses his position and come to a decision wether to stay or go, or inded if Jon himself has given him an ultimatum.....Im drifting into rumours here :(
Anyway I for one am praying we get him back on board ASAP and come june I will be witnessing something along the lines of this, what I think is back to BON JOVI, no Phil X, Bobby firmly in the background (the further the better for me) and Jon & Richie doing what they do best...
